THE DYNASTY OF WIDOWS “Everywhere we went” writes Nehru (Autobiography, Wanderings Amongst the Kisans), “we were accompanied by policemen, CID men and a deputy collector from Lucknow... The taluqdars and big-Zamindars, the lords of the land, the ‘natural leaders of the people’ as they are proud of calling themselves, had been the spoilt children of the British Government... they did nothing at all for their tenantry... and became complete parasite on the land and the people... “A little later, in the year 1921, Fyzabad district had its widespread repression... The peasants of some villages went and looted the property of a taluqdar... The poor ignorant peasants were actually told that it was the wish of Mahatma Gandhi that they should loot and they willingly agreed to carry out this behest, shouting ‘Mahatma Gandhi ki jai’ in the process. “I was very angry when I heard of this and within a day or two of the occurrence I was on the spot, somewhere near Akbarpur in Fyzabad district. On arrival I called a meeting for the same day and within a few hours five or six thousand persons had collected from numerous villages within a radius of ten miles. I spoke harshly to them... and said that the guilty persons must confess publicly... I called upon those who had participated in the looting to raise their hands, and... there in the presence of numerous police officials, about two dozen hands went up... But the people who suffered were not just two or three dozen... Over a thousand arrests were made, and the district goal was overcrowded, and the trial went on for the best part of a year. Many died in prison during the trial. Many others received long sentences, and in later years, when I went to prison, I came across some of them, boys and young men, spending their youth in prison.” How shrewd of you Scoundrel Nehru! You were thirty-two years, and experienced too, and you knew that police officials were in your assembly! You knew what was to befall those innocent peasants whom you called upon to raise their hands for having innocently looted the property of a taluqdar “the complete parasites on land and people” as you called them! How shrewd of you Scoundrel Nehru! You, Nehru-Gandhi and Co., didn’t only prove yourselves the running dogs of British rulers, you were also the faithful concubines of taluqdars. How you murdered the revolutionary spirit of the exasperated masses crushed by poverty! How high was their revolutionary spirit in 1921 itself, which you yourself describe! How they would have sent all taluqdars and all British rulers packing into the Indian Ocean! You butchered your own capitalist revolution. You are the biggest criminals to the Hindustani masses. By your heinous crime, the Muslim League, which otherwise would have been a partner to the bringing about of the Revolution, was given to the defeatist attitude and mission instead. For peasantry is the most conservative and most stubborn class in the world. They turn revolutionaries but once in a millennium. And when they turn so, there is a gigantic all-round progress brought about quickly in every sphere of life, and every home. The preparation for the revolution in such a situation is the greatest blessing that humankind becomes worthy of. Brahmins and Shudras all would be freed from barbarian bondage, they would be spiritually uplifted—they would have acquired the cultural development by being bound through the circumstances to go to one another’s houses for discussions, meetings, as well as for hiding from the police, etc. Their dogmatic, helpless and stupid women would be elevated. Their idiocy and slavery to traditional rot would end. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists all would similarly interact and mix up into a harmonious fabric of the society... The struggle itself would open up this bright path for them. They would become true friends, they would inter-dine, they would intermarry. There would be a whirlpool of movement of people from villages to cities, cities to villages, and one region to another. They would learn good things from one another. They would analyse the bad in them and shun that. Hindustan would be really integrated from Gilgat to Kanyakumari and Sri Lanka, from Arunachal Pradesh to Afghanistan and Iran... What a sweet culture would have emerged as a result! And how refined and competent the people would have become by revolutionary activity, debate, thinking, planning, etc.! How the people’s stooped backs would have been straightened up! How they would have been spiritually elated and elevated! What tremendous energy would have been pooled into the construction and glory of Hindustan. Hindustan could well be at par or even ahead of USA by now. Hindustan could even have attained the position by now where it could lead the world to its future. What criminals you have been to Hindustan! Nay, you are criminals to the whole world. For had you not massacred the mighty Hindustani Revolution of national freedom, the Revolution of Hindustan would have taken place by 1922AD. And thereafter Chinese Revolution would have followed suit by 1930AD. World War Second would either have begun in 1925AD itself, or it would have been totally crushed. Because USSR was totally weak in 1925, and she, India and China wouldn’t participate in the war. Korea wouldn’t have been divided. The mighty Hindustani Revolution would generate a chain reaction throughout the world. It would have sent a merciless shudder through the spine of all Western vultures... Europe and America wouldn’t turn into such enormous baskets of addled eggs as they are at present. And the world would have seen a drastic, dramatic change in place of the shameful history that is the tale of the twentieth century. Even if the World War Second would have taken place, Hindustan and China would by now have been freed from the rabidhood and wretchedness they are in up to the present. Either all mankind would have been freed from all global misery by a Socialist Revolution, or Hindustan as well China would have been at par with the USA in terms of economic, scientific and technological achievements. In any case at least the two fifths of the world population i.e. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and China would have had a developed capitalism, well-developed industrial production and freedom from all remnants of the past. You hypocrites of non-violence! The moment you assumed power you started organising the means of brutal repression. Who doesn’t know how you brutally slew all the peasants at Telangana that rose against the tyranny of taluqdars! Who doesn’t know your bloody hands whenever the Maoists did the “wicked” deed of adventure by going against the feudal-lords—a work, which was yours, capitalistic work. And your descendants are now equipped with a gigantic apparatus and organisation of mass-destruction too! Who doesn’t know of the mass murders by your descendants about the Naxalbari movement against the talaqdars! ... How glorious a chance—the Indian Capitalist Revolution—you murdered. Having undergone predatory war for the loot of the world as well as having drenched their butcher-hands in the blood of the working class, the internal enemy, whom they had slaughtered internally, European crows were completely weak at the time. Hindustani masses were about to awake but you lulled them to sleep. And the balance of forces as well as the revolutionary spirit of the formidable Hindustani masses was such a blessing that with very little bloodshed capitalistic glory could have been achieved. India, China, Asia and even Europe would have been spared from the uncountable mass graves and cultural wretchedness and desperation which they are filled with to the brim. Perversion has limits, but Indian perversion is limitless—thanks to the jugglers, concubines of taluqdars, and the dynasty of widows, which they founded. This term “dynasty of widows” is undoubtedly a very cruel term—but considering the number of widows from Ladakh to Sri Lanka that the dynasty manufactured in its slaughter-house during the century, considering the violence in India for the whole of the twentieth century in communal clashes, elections and other things, in many of which the Congress Party stood leading the masses to their physical or mental doom—I’m bound to use the term for its truth-value.
