THE ELLEN-STEPS DOWN CAMPAIGN APPRECIATES AMBASSADOR WEAH’S STATEMENT AND CRITICS MUST NOW STOP ACCUSING THE CDC OF BEEN IN SUPPORT OF OUR CALL FOR ELLEN’S RESIGNATION!!!! The Ellen-Steps Down Campaign wants to commend Ambassador George Weah, Peace Ambassador for his statement as a Peace Ambassador. I think he spoke in his official capacity as Peace Ambassador which is highly welcoming. It is also good representation of that sacred office. However, the Ellen-Steps Down Campaign remains committed more than ever before because, we cannot afford dashing the hopes of our suffering brothers and sisters who this regime has deliberately ignored. We also want to commend him for condemning his executives who he claimed are always making reckless statements which are all peace messages. Interestingly, Ambassador Weah also said that the Government must listen to the people warning that Liberians need some key basic social services to live a better life: “We hope that she (President Sirleaf) does the right thing for the Liberian people…because those politicians that are asking you (Madam Sirleaf) to step down are not the Liberian people. Those people are doing it for their personal gain,” he said. “Liberia needs light, water, jobs. We need people to be able to go to hospital and pay their children’s hospital bill and it is easy for her to sit and do that … so let us keep the city calm.” Per the above mentioned comments from Ambassador Weah, the Ellen-Steps Down Campaign wants to categorically state here clearly that it is not possible for citizens/partisans of political parties to listen to their political leaders when the very supporters of those political institutions are been subjected to poverty and abandoned by their government. The Ellen-Steps Down Campaign really pity the situation of the Peace Ambassador because what the government should have done to keep Liberians happy and peaceful, the very government has failed on doing those things and are now using Ambassador Weah as a DOCTOR to cure the wounds inflated on those poor Liberians many of who are Weah’s supporters. Ambassador Weah must understand that no amount of plea will help President Sirleaf once his (Weah) people are in economic bondage and hungry all of the time. Ambassador Weah is a humble man and because of his humility, President Sirleaf cleverly placed him in the ambassadorial position to neutralize the anger of the Liberia people while the government continues to deplete state coffers and sell all our resources. In as much as we sincerely respect the views of the Peace ambassador, we will also want him to be very vocal on the President and call on her to revisit the bogus concessions that were signed under her regime. We see this as an evil act on the part of the government and Ambassador Weah must go beyond just condemning his executives who are frustrated by the wickedness of this regime. Additionally, the critics of the Ellen-Steps Down Campaign must understand that Ambassador Weah spoke in his official capacity as a Peace Ambassador and nothing else we expected from him but “preaching peace” which this campaign also believes in. Interestingly, Ambassador Weah also warned the President to listen to the “people” and to go ahead in doing the right thing but will President Sirleaf who has already referred to the very “people” Amb. Weah is talking about as noisy minority listen to the pleas of the Peace Ambassador? Let me just inform many of the CDCians that if Ambassador Weah continues to be used by President Sirleaf because of his kindness and humility to plea to the conscience of those who are hungry, jobless, homeless and made to live an impoverished life by President Sirleaf, there will be a time that many of his supporters, sympathizers, friends and even relatives will see him as a REGIME COLLABORATOR. This stigma MAY hunt him in the future. BISHOP DESMOND TUTU ONCE SAID AND I QUOTE: IF YOU ARE NEUTRAL IN SITUATIONS OF INJUSTICE, YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE SIDE OF THE OPPRESSOR. IF AN ELEPHANT HAS ITS FOOT ON THE TAIL OF A MOUSE AND YOU SAY THAT YOU ARE NEUTRAL, THE MOUSE WILL NOT APPRECIATE YOUR NEUTRALITY. This goes directly to ambassador Weah. Weah’s neutrality at the moment especially n times of situations of injustice in Liberia will definitely be constructed as taking side with the oppressor, Madam Sirelaf. The government of Liberia is very much aware that Ambassador Weah is a potential force come 2014 and 2017 and putting him against the suffering people by allowing him to preach peace will reduce his popularity because a HUNGRY MAN/WOMAN IS AN ANGRY PERSON AND THEY MIGHT NOT LISTEN TO HIM. Ambassador Weah, please watch your back ooooo because if you are not careful, very soon your goodness will be termed as foolishness because many of your supporters who are suffering and dying with hunger every day will perceive you as a bad person.
