THE END OF PAWS ON BOARD FRIDAY! Cash’s Rescuer says: This may not be the most remarkable of stories in comparison to some of the amazing tails from Nowzads’ history. Is it a rescue? Ultimately any pet being taken from an area where they are not respected, loved and cared for is a rescue no matter what the circumstances. Before Cash was Cash, he was ‘the small dark spotted one’. Anyway ‘the small dark spotted one’ was an orphan, not sure about his mum, she may have been run over, killed by poison, or the myriad of other ways animals die in Iraq. He was fairly safe on our compound not a great life maybe, but better than living outside the wire. I was, in my room the door was open and in shot ‘the small dark spotted one’ at once deciding that I should fuss over him now! Thank you and please. Of course I did - and gave him a piece of my tuna sandwich and sent him on his way … . . Errr no, . he was adamant about staying. So who am I to say no? He came and went as he pleased (as cats do), but always was around at the end of the day, pretty much becoming part of my life in Iraq. So where are we now? Well, Cash is in Jordan, I flew out with him last Sunday, and he now has the rabies vaccine. It’s a long four-month wait now; hopefully I’ll see him briefly at the end of the month when I transit through Jordan before we can start our new lives together in the UK. Your sharing and donations can help Cash go to his furever home in the UK - sacfund.org/Pages/DonateNow.aspx - remember to put Cash in the Special Instructions!.
