THE FATHER AND SON PROPHESY By Emmanuel Nicholas Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. Luke 3:1-6 The above extraction from the Holy Scriptures is historically significant in mankinds redemption. It must have sounded so vague to the Jews who considered how near impossible these facts were. It was beyond comprehension that mountains were to be literally made low, or that any valleys were to be literally filled up! The Jordan Valley, where John was preaching and baptizing people, is part of the Great Rift Valley. It extends through the Red Sea, and East Africa. The surface of the Dead Sea is about 1,300 feet below sea level. See how laughable this was to the Jews? But did Isaiah and John the Baptist mean this great valley would someday be literally filled up? Clearly, the mountains and valleys Isaiah referred to are symbolic. What do they represent? John likened the preparations for Jesus coming to preparing highway in the desert . A route that traverses a mountain may be steep and difficult, even where little change in elevation is involved. That was especially so in the days when most people travelled on foot and roads were mere paths. Crossing a mountain involved some difficulty, and required extra effort. Isaiahs prophecy about every mountain being made low, and crooked places being made straight, suggested that the unsolved mysteries that mountains represent will be solved. The crooked being made straight suggested that flawed interpretations will be set right and errors corrected. It suggested a new future, where mysteries will be demystified and things will be all fine. And so, a similar prophetic scenario played out recently at the peaceful and beautiful land of Awa Iman in Onna local government area on Sunday, January 26. It was a day to return thanks to God for his life, family and achievements, the thanks giving service pulled down all the strongholds which would have hinders the greater future of Mr Udom Emmanuel. Deacon Udom Emmanuel and family invited the entire Nigerians to Join him in thanking God for his benevolence towards him . The weather was clement and all the roads in and around Awa Iman community were busy with automobiles, motor-bikes and bicycles, all gearing at reaching the venue of the great event. The colouration of worshipers who thronged the venue were not just residents of the state alone but people from others states and countries also travelled all the way to join in the thanksgiving service of this humble son of Awa Iman. The event which was kick started with opening prayers, hymn renditions and choir ministrations was officiated by the Qua Iboe Church where Mr Udom Emmanuel is a Deacon in the Church and there was a cross section of clergy men from others denominations. The Bible reading was taken by Mr Udom Emmanuel from Psalm 136, Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. During the thanks giving praises the Akwa Ibom women who came in their large numbers, danced their hearts as they celebrated Gods goodness in the life of Udom Emmanuel coupled with various renditions of choruses from the Real Brass and QIC choir . The preacher Apostle Emmanuel Kure, took the podium in the spirit of Elijah , he moved away from giving the homily as a pastor and dwelled in the office of a prophet . He told the congregation that he was there not to preach but to thank God and declare the words the Lord had instructed him to declare. The Apostle of Christ who came all the way from Kaduna, said God was the one who chosed Governor Akpabio , to come and rule over his people in Akwa Ibom State, that is why he is the most successful Governor of the 4th Republic in Nigeria , in terms of development. The prophet of God , with a loud voice warned the people who were out to project evil against the governor to desist that, they will fail and will be consumed by their own evil. He also told the people that when God sents a man, he will stand by him and subdue all his adversaries against him. That Akpabio is an anointed of God and sent to take Akwa Ibom State out of ruins and he is happy he has not failed God, the whole state Before closing , he moved into the celestial and told the congregation , that Akwa Ibom is a state selected by God for greatness, that the people of the State were patient, but the time had come for them to take their rightful position , that is why God is sending leaders like Akpabio , who has come to act as Nehemiah. He called four Elders who are over 70 years from Awa Iman to come out and join him in praying for Udom Emmanuel and family. They prayed thanking God for Udoms life , achievements and family. Asking God to lead him to a greater throne. Mr Udom Emmanuel during his thanksgiving testimony was full of gratitude to God ,his parents, Qua Iboe Church and Chief Dr Godswill Obot Akpabio who found him worthy for the elated position of the Secretary to Akwa Ibom State government. He donated a Bus to the women fellowship of the church , and the presentation was done by Chief Dr Godswill Obot Akpabio. The cooperate governance expert, Mr Udom Emmanuel also went the way of the Prophets and spoke with a thunderous voice , that on the Awa mountain today , there must be a word of prophesy from the anointed king and priest , Governor Akpabio , who is king in the order of Melchizedek. Interestingly, the priesthood of Melchizedek is a role in Abraham times , modelled on Melchizedek, combining the dual position of king and priest. Melchizedek was one of those amazing people in the Bible who appeared only briefly but are mentioned again as examples of holiness and right living. His name means king of righteousness, and his title King of Salem also means king of peace.The startling fact about Melchizedek is that although he was not a Jew, he worshiped God Most High, the one true God. Melchizedek blessed Abram, later to be renamed Abraham, after Abram rescued his nephew Lot from enemy captivity and brought back other people and goods. Abram honored Melchizedek by giving him one tenth of the plunder of battle, or a tithe. Melchizedeks graciousness is contrasted with the rudeness of the King of Sodom. Genesis 14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and swine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying, Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand. Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything. Mr Emmanuel told the governor to prophesy while in the spirit to prophesy, knowing that the Governor operated in that order , said he was not qualified for the position , he was appointed to but the wisdom of God who told governor Akpabio to appoint him qualified him. On that note the master of the feast took to the podium in dancing, the women , youth and the political leaders took to dancing with him . After the dancing time , the king and priest stepped into office and the crowd went into ecstasy, as he switched unto the celestial , communing with the almighty one . The people of Akwa Ibom State, Udom has made us to know today through the inspiration of God, that when God appoints you he qualifies you , that you can be qualified but if you are not appointed by God you remain unqualified. Chief Dr Godswill Akpabio CON the high priest asked the people of Akwa Ibom where they wanted their next governor to come from and it was an overwhelming anthem. The people sang with the highest octave , the people chorused Eket Senatorial District. The priest answered, you said it not me, but I will defend this equity so that posterity will remember me in good light, for Uyo have led for eight years, I from Ikot Ekpene is leading , next is the turn of Eket Senatorial to lead the State. Mr Udom Emmanuel has spoken , that God who appointed him will also qualify him, whom I’m i to disqualify whom God has qualified . He then warned those going around town with rumours that he humiliated an Ibibio man to enthrone a none Ibibio son, that Mr Udom Emmanuel is from Awa Iman , which is an ancestral home of the Ibibios. He promised to join hands with other Nigerian to build the 117 year old Qua Iboe Church at Awa Iman. In ensuring equity prevails come 2015 in Akwa Ibom State , Akpabio is like Jesus who fought for The Kingdom and Justice for All, “The Pharisees, the popular political party, came to Him, and He denounced them for misleading the people. The priests came to Him, and He denounced them for misinterpreting the Scriptures. The scribes, the lawyers, came to Him, and He denounced them for twisting The Law and making up their own. The spies of the Hidden Hand came, and heard Him preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, not for the exclusive benefit of the Jews, but for all Israel, and through Israel for all mankind.” Jesus had become a problem for them. Just as Akpabio has become a problem to those who believe Eket should not have their turn. He could not be bribed, forced or fooled. His message meant that they would have to obey rotation of power. This caused them a great deal of strife, because they would lose their immense wealth and livelihood. But here lies the reality of the prophesy that flowed between father and son.
