THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS Philippians 3:10-11, “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” If Christ were to gratify all our desire, it would soon appear that we desire fame or authority and are unwilling to taste of His cup or have His baptism. Our care must be that we may have wisdom and grace to know how much to suffer with Him and that we may trust Him to provide the degree of glory we shall have. Those only shall reign with Him that be with Him in good and hard times. Those that drink of His cup and are baptised with His baptism shall be with Him in His Kingdom. By His sacrifice, Jesus Christ was delivered up that we might be delivered, healed, blessed and saved. Though His chastisement was in order to ensure our peace, yet there was no peace made but by His blood on the cross. If not for Christ’s blood, we would not have had the New Testament and if we had not had the New Testament, we had never had known the value of Christ’s bloodshed. The blood of Jesus is the most precious commodity in the history of humankind. PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, give us the grace to know the fellowship of Your sufferings for us and patiently submit to Your will for our lives, in Jesus Christ’s name.
