THE FIRST ANNUAL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LESOTHO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION Lesotho as a developing country is yet to experience locally initiated industrial revolution. Regardless of the textile industry that is dominated by foreigners, the country is yet to explore its own path to development. Lesotho being landlocked within South Africa, most consumer products are imported from South Africa. It goes without any doubt that no country has experienced a truely home-driven development whilst neglecting investment in science, technology and innorvation as Lesotho consistently does. Through the Faculty of Science and Technology, NUL will host its first annual science exhibition together with the Faculty of Agriculture and Health Sciences with the purpose to attract potential partnership from public and private sectors to engage in innorvative activities, product development and community cooperation. This science exhibition of its kind is intended to expose present cultures embedded within local academia, government, private sector and non-government organisations, which seem to hinder the ability of this country to thrive economically. This science exhibition aims at suggesting clear mutual cooperation between NUL and private sector and public sector partnership to sow seeds of industrial revolution and to show why it is important that local researchers get the funding that they urgently need. It is aimed also to present to the private and public sector as potential partners, clear opportunities to dpfund research and innorvation in NUL, which will consequently yield mutually beneficial products and much needed job creation. First NUL Science and Technology Exhibition will be held on Thursday the 22nd January 2015 at Pioneer Mall in Maseru from 0800hrs - 1600hrs, where key addresses from Vice Chancellor of NUL, Dean of FOST, various academics from Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Economics. Students as well as lecturers from FOST, FOHS and Faculty of agriculture will present ongoing projects within these faculties in an attempt to engage the public and potential partners. NUL, by this initiative portrays its transition from just theory, but THEORY and PRACTICE, acting in harmony with the words of Albert Einstein, Leading by example is not the most important way of influencing others, it is the ONLY way. Starting from tomorrow, DOPE FM will be interviewing some of the organisers of this remarkable initiative, and every day of the week on various programmes, students involved in this exhibition from various faculties and departments will get to engage us in order to build hype for the event. Do not miss this chance to experience history in the making.
