THE FIVE POINT PLAN.THIS AINT GONNA WORK. 1.Preparing a basin plan, that guides investment and choices, will be an important first step 2.Second, measurement will be critical. One cannot manage what one does not know. 3.Third, getting the institutions right. Leadership, autonomy, and professional management are needed. 4.Fourth, engaging and mobilizing all stakeholders. The Ganga’s constituents are its inhabitants, its champions, its religious leaders, its elected representatives, and all the people who value it as a cleaner river. 5.Fifth, rejuvenation requires equal attention to quality and quantity. The old adage that “the solution to pollution is dilution” is partly true. The consistent ency of the crooks in the world bank is so often overlooked by the paper crunching Bureaucrats of this country.Give me one example of any projects funded by the world bank has been a success in India.None in its entirety.Be it agriculture, housing, transport ,more recently energy and now the Great Ganga Goof up. Why? Lets us go to point number one.Where they talk of investment over opportunities. That is making magic mullah mullah .That to be preparing a sorry basin plan with identification of hot spots.Setting up STP,employment ...ra ra ra ...Havent we all heard this rant before ? What a load of crap. There are no hot spots. And all the river is a hot spot.Yes .That is our own Ganga Mata. The cleansing of Ganga has to be re equated to the lost soul of India. No investment ,no plans or no technology can address this unless we consider the cleansing of the habits, habitats and hobbies of the 250-300 million people who live along the 4500 plus kms of the rivers journey. And on the rise. This is where planners, policies and people must collaborate to build that comprehensive master plan collectively.Which though daunting can be very easily achieved. I wont bore everyone on the possibilities. But would leave everyone with the thought .That the doable dream is only possible when we create sustainable societies with zero unemployment ,zero waste and most importantly 100 % educated (I am not talking of the degrees or school curriculum either, but versed on individual and collective responsibilities and actions thereof ).A sustainable sensitive society. worldbank.org/en/news/opinion/2014/06/19/five-point-plan-to-clean-the-ganga
