THE FULLNESS OF THE BLESSING : “I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ” - (Romans 15:29, NIV) As believers in Jesus, we have what the Scripture calls “the blessing.” It’s God’s empowerment, His divine enablement to accomplish the dreams He’s given us. The blessing is simply God’s favor on your life. It’s when He’s breathing in your direction. When you walk in the blessing, you make good decisions. You see supernatural opportunities. The right people come across your path. You realize it’s not your own strength or ability; it’s the blessing of God on your life. We’ve all experienced a measure of this blessing. We’ve seen a measure of God’s favor. But I believe there is a level of blessing that God wants to release in your life like nothing you’ve ever seen before. He wants you to experience the fullness of His blessing. That word “fullness” means “to the highest degree and the greatest measure.” Today, I encourage you to open up your heart and mind up to receive the fullness, the highest and greatest measure, of His favor and blessing. Don’t settle where you are. Instead, look for ways to yield yourself more to Him and allow Him to work in your life to a greater degree. Through faith and patience, you will inherit His promises and enjoy the abundant life He has prepared for you! The blessing is much more than just material things. The blessing is an empowerment to prosper in every area of your life! So, which area in your life needs to go from lack to wholeness? Confess Galatians 3: 13-14 and shout out loud “I receive the blessing of Abraham! I’ll never lack not another day of my life!” GET EXCITED ABOUT YOUR FUTURE! “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day” - (Proverbs 4:18, ESV) No matter what is happening in your life today, as a believer in Jesus, you have a reason to be excited about your future! If things seem dark right now, know that the dawn will soon appear. The key is you have to remember that you are not here by accident. You have a purpose and destiny to fulfill, and He isn’t finished with you yet. Your best days are not behind you; your best days are out in front of you. One thing I know is that God is a God of increase. He has greater things in store for your future than you have experienced in your past. His dream for your future is so much bigger than your own. He wants to take you places that you’ve never dreamed and open up doors that you’ve never imagined. He wants to bring talent out of you that you didn’t even know you had. He wants to increase you and cause you to be a greater blessing to the people around you. Today, get your hopes up and get excited about your future! Begin to thank Him for what He has in store. Keep standing, keep believing and keep moving forward because God has explosive blessings in store for you! ACTIVATE THE POWER : Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. – Ephesians 3:20 As a believer, you have the power of the Holy Spirit inside you. But that power wont go to work until you put it to work! The Holy Spirit wont just muscle in on you. He wont come in and turn down the television set and jerk you up off the couch and say, Now you listen to me. No, Hes a gentleman. Hes sent to help you to do the will of God, to strengthen you, to counsel you...but He wont do a thing until Hes asked. Thats why the book of James says if youre in trouble or afflicted, pray. Its prayer that puts the power within you to work. Just think about that. The Spirit of Almighty God. The Spirit that hovered over the face of the deep and carried out Gods Word at creation, that same Spirit is inside you--waiting for you to call on Him! If Jesus came into your house and sat down at your table, youd put aside everything to talk to Him, wouldnt you? You wouldnt just rush through and say, Jesus, Im so glad to see you. I wish I had the energy to talk to You, but You wouldnt believe what kind of a day I had today. I mean, everything in the world went wrong and now Im just too tired to do anything but lay here and watch TV. Maybe we can spend some time together later. You wouldnt do that, would you? No! If Jesus were sitting there in your room where you could see Him, youd fall on your face and begin to worship Him. You wouldnt care how tired you were or what kind of day you had. Youd jump at the opportunity to fellowship with Him. The Holy Ghost is in you. Hes waiting on you. Hes ready any time of the day or night. Hes saying, Im here to help you and strengthen you. I want to comfort you today. You know that problem youve been having? I want to help you get that out of your life. The Holy Spirit has some things He wants to show you--things youve been trying to figure out on your own. Hes waiting there with the power to overcome every obstacle in your life. Take time to pray. Pray in the Spirit. Pray with understanding. Pray and activate the power that worketh within you today. PRONE TO WANDER With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! —Psalm 119:10 One of my favorite classic hymns is “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” which was written in 1757 by 22-year-old Robert Robinson. In the hymn’s lyrics is a line that always captures my attention and forces me to do some self-evaluation. The line says, “Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love.” I feel that way sometimes. Too often I find myself distracted and drifting, instead of having my heart and mind focused on the Savior who loves me and gave Himself for me. Robert Robinson and I are not alone in this. In those seasons of wandering, our heart of hearts doesn’t want to drift from God—but, like Paul, we often do what we don’t want to do (Rom. 7:19), and we desperately need to turn back to the Shepherd of our heart who can draw us to Himself. David wrote of this struggle in His great anthem to the Scriptures, Psalm 119, saying, “With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!” (v.10). Sometimes, even when our hearts long to seek God, the distractions of life can draw us away from Him and His Word. How grateful we can be for a patient, compassionate heavenly Father whose grace is always sufficient—even when we are prone to wander! Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love; Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above. Our tendency to wander is matched by God’s willingness to pursue A DIVINE SHIFT : The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him. - Psalm 37:23, NIV I have a friend who never really liked his supervisor. Nobody at the company did. This supervisor was very hard to get along with and condescending. He had been a source of frustration year after year. It looked like he could be at the company for 20 or 30 years. My friend has a good attitude, but deep down he thought, “This is going to be a pain to put up with this guy.” One morning he got to work and the management had called a staff meeting. They told how this supervisor’s wife got transferred to another state, and he had just resigned and was no longer with the company. What happened? A divine shift. Suddenly, God changed things. Today, you don’t have to worry about the people who are trying to hold you back. God knows how to move the wrong people out of your life and bring the right people in. He knows how to get you to where you’re supposed to be. Trust Him; trust His timing because a divine shift is coming your way!
