THE FUTURE OF PHILADELPHIA AND LAODICEA Part 1 The following was written down in 1942: Even the best interpreters dont agree until now about questions about the future of the Church. There prevail the most conflicting opinions, which is an added incentive for the Philadelphia-Christians to pray for revelation through the Holy Spirit, for only the Holy Spirit, who inspired the Scriptures, can interpret them correctly. For our understanding of the Word of God we have two promises in particular: In James 1.5 we read: If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to Him. In Mt. 11.25 we read: I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. Based on these two promises, the best chance to receive insight into the Word of God have those who dont approach the Bible with their own understanding and wisdom but first of all confess their ignorance and ask in faith for wisdom and revelation. Our motives, however must be pure and not be the desire to boast before people about our insights, but to receive light for our way we have to walk. And the Lord who keeps His promises, will give us the light we need and finds good and edifying for us. But we must be aware that we know and prophesy only in part; for the Word of the Lord to His disciples applies for us as well: I have much more to say to you, more than you now can bear. But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you in all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. This promise is for us too. We can observe, therefore, that in circles where is openness for the Holy Spirit, there is ever increasing agreement regarding the interpretation of the prophetic Word. The following is just my personal conviction of questions about the future, as it was shown to me, without going into details of other views, so that the reader can test my views based on the Scriptures. With the following vision, which at first I treated with great suspicion, some of my previous views had to go out the window; for I expected the rapture in the near future. But now it was shown to me that the Church was not made ready yet for the rapture, but it still had to be accomplished. The future was revealed to me as follows: After the war the Church will receive a short, only known to the Lord, time of grace, when existing spiritual gifts in the Church will break through. Just like God gave the Church - after the first world war - throngs of evangelists, to call the elect out of the world, so will He give after this war, throngs of prophets who will bring the church to completion. But the preparation of the Philadelphia-Christians will not achieved by signs and wonders, for they are not obsessed with seeing miracles, but are truth-loving and sincere, through and through. Later the Lord will too send apostolic men again, who are directly called from God. If they are equipped with powers to perform miracles, it will be for the sake of the world as a witness, not for the Church. These Apostles will have the task to complete the work, to present the Church to the Lord as a radiant Church, without stain or wrinkle or any blemish, but holy and blameless. (Eph. 5.27) For the end must return to the beginning and the Philadelphia-Church will, according to the Lords will, become one heart and soul. After her completion, the Antichrist will be revealed and according to Rev. 12.4 will raise his hand to utterly destroy the Church. At this moment, she will be caught up to the Lord, whereupon she must appear before the judgment seat and be judged according everyones measure of faithfulness. After three and a half years the Lord will then return with His elect to establish His kingdom on earth. (by Christian Roeckle)
