THE GOSPEL TRUTH REGARDING TRUE EVANGELISM. I just got a great truth from Andrew. If a Believer wins an average of 1,000 souls for Jesus per year, in 30 years he/she would have 30,000 individuals who prayed the sinner’s prayer. According to research, only 15 to 20% would remain the Church. This means that 24,000 to 25,500 of those not discipled would remain abandoned babies in Christ. However, if discipleship evangelism was applied: A Believer would learn about spiritually growing, via the renewing of their mind, to the extent that they would please God by doing His will. Then this Believer would lead someone to Jesus and share with them discipleship evangelism. See Romans 12:1-2: “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as A LIVING SACRIFICE, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. DO NOT BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but BE TRANSFORMED (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], SO THAT YOU MAY PROVE [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and PERFECT WILL OF GOD, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” AMP When a Believer is transformed, then they can win and share the need for transformation, leading to discipleship evangelism. This is accomplished by teaching Romans 12 and other related scriptures. We must change our strategy for winning souls, making sure that those that we win are correctly discipled. The math concerning this need is as follows: “If one person leads someone to the Lord, once every six months and then discipled them so they started converting and discipling others every six months and this continued…..After 12½ years, more than 6.5 Billion would have been won and discipled. This is more than the population of the whole earth.” Many Churches and Believers today concentrate in winning converts, but do not follow the command of Jesus to “make disciples” according to Matthew 28:18-20: “Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go then and MAKE DISCIPLES of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).” AMP I have won many to become converts “Baby Christians” and I have asked God to forgive me for not discipling them. A portion of them were killed by satan because as “on-milk babies” they had not been discipled to defend themselves. Winning someone for Jesus and then leaving them, without discipleship is the same as someone involved in giving birth to a baby and then turning their back on them, while they go back to again give birth to another baby. I HEREBY EXHORT EVERYONE THAT DECIDES TO WIN SOULS FOR GOD’S KINGDOM TO…..PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THEM ALONE. MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE TRULY DISCIPLED.
