THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL (Strange Movie – Seeming fantasy with some comedic bits) The film recounts the alleged adventures of Gustave H., a legendary concierge at a notable European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The death of an aged lady, though wrinkly; wealthy, and who seemingly shared “private experiences” with the concierge often and freely, serves a s the triggering event to the plot! At the reading of the will and odd and last minute codicil is discovered which benefits the concierge over the family of four “glow in the dark-gruesome selfish family.” The family member are convinced of a dark plot to exclude their taking from the estate, and the concierge is involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune -- all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent. Weird film! Followed by “munchies/tapas/red wine” dinner at Montaditos in South Miami with Lynn, Jud and Liz and I , Always an interesting and fun group!
