THE GREAT IMPACT OF GOOD MANNERS Syedina Junaid Baghdadi - TopicsExpress

THE GREAT IMPACT OF GOOD MANNERS Syedina Junaid Baghdadi Rahimuhullah is one of the leaders of Auliya. A noteworthy incident took place during their lifetime which is as follows: There was once a person, who was known as quite a famous robber of his time. He was a really powerful and skilful robber to the extent that he would inform the people beforehand whose houses he was going to rob saying that Im going to steal from your house this week. He wasn’t at all worried of leaders or police officers and people were scared of him as he hardly ever got caught. Once it happened that he was caught, the shariah law was implemented on him and his hand got amputated. After, he got caught again for stealing for the second time, for this one of his feet were amputated. However, even after this legal punishment, he was still supervising the robbery. One day, as usual he had gone out intending to rob another house yet again, however when he stepped inside a house he found it empty. It didn’t have much furnishing but only had a few cloths lying around. So he started to make bundles of the cloths to take back with him however when he had finished, it became too heavy for him to carry, as he only had one hand and one leg so couldnt stand properly. After a while, someone came and at first the robber became fearful that the owner or resident of the house was here. When the person approached him, to the robbers surprise, he said “Shall I help you?” The robber thought he was also another robber so he replied “Sure, here hold a few cloths and I will give you a few too”. So the man helped him and the robber went away. The month of Ramadhan approached and the robber thought to himself, It is the month of Ramadhan, let me go and attain some blessings of this month. He started towards a zawiyah, a spiritual training centre and when he entered, he saw a shaykh delivering a discourse. He asked one of the people there Who is this shaykh?” The man said “This is Syedina Junaid Baghdadi.” The robber was surprised and speechless, as this was the same man who had helped him carry the cloths a few months back. The robber then inquired and asked one of the people “Whose house is that?” the man replied “This is the house of Syedina Junaid Baghdadi. He then realised that this, Syedina Junaid Baghdadi, owner of the house he robbed, was a great wali of that time and had helped him by carrying his own cloths without stopping him. This had such an impact on him that even though the legal punishments of shariah had had no effect in him, good character and the iklaaq of a wali changed his heart. Thereafter under the supervision of Syedina Junaid Baghdadi, this person became the wali of that time. Good ikhlaaq (manners) are derived from the noor (light) of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. That is why many scholars who have studied the seerah of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, have noticed that in the last 3 years of the Prophet Muhammads life, thousands of people entered the fold of Islam. What is the reason? The reason is that when the Muslims of that time, when they interacted with the non-Muslims at first hand and saw the good ikhlaaq of the Muslims, this led thousands to enter Islam. Good character shows the beauty of Islam which inspires people to become Muslim. Admin Post: This post does not necessarily reflect the words, speech or messages done by the Teacher himself.
