THE GREAT NYATITI FESTIVAL Over the years Nyatiti Music has attracted very little attention in terms of promotion. The situation is mainly attributed to the over growing number of young hip hop musicians and Ohangla groups have made sponsors shift their attention from Nyatiti music. Despite the high education and entertainment value of Nyatiti, it is increasingly being shunned both by young artistes and young funs. This only serves to deny Nyatiti music the opportunity to benefit from young talent and decreases its base of fans. Wisdom therefore demands that efforts are made to place this important type of music where it rightfully belongs. Jojo Records whose mission is to work for the welfare of Kenyan Artists, has stepped in to undertake this task. The organization shall host Nyatiti Concerts every year to promote local artists as well as local industries. We have extended our invitation to one great Nyatiti player from Japan, Eriko Mukoyama (Nyatiti player Anyango) as the main Artist of the Event, Oduor Nyagweno, Nyamungu (Owiny Sigoma), Thadayo Owit, Ayub Ogada, Atisaana and we have invited Kagan/ Kochia dancers and Dodo Group (Ogoya Nengo) as curtain raisers. The Music Concert shall consist of a series of music entertainment by these renowned Nyatiti artists on the 29th on November 2014 at the Kenya National Theatre in Nairobi Kenya. We call upon all able well-wishers to help us raise the Funds to host this amazing and great concert that will require a lot of effort. Any donation will make a difference and will be greatly appreciated. Even so, this is not a one way street. As a token of our appreciation we have a bunch of goodies on the right ready and waiting for those who help us. Any pledge of Kshs. 5,000.00 and above would get a free ticket to the concert and a chance to feast and enjoy some of the greatest Luo delicacies that will be accompanied by the great Nyatiti music. Many more surprise goodies during the concert in store for our well-wishers in the likes of African accessories. Come and experience the beautiful and cultural Nyatiti Music like never before.
