THE HEARTFELT PRAYER The effectual fervent prayer of a Righteous man availeth much. [James5vs16b] My own direct translation to this scripture says, the effective prayer of a Righteous man achieves much, it gathers much and amasses much. Many would want their prayer to achieve them much but a condition is given as to which prayer can do that. First this prayer must be made by a Righteous man, meaning if you are still one of those who don’t believe that we are Righteous now, you are in trouble. You can inbox me and we talk about righteousness forth with. So the prayer that availeth much is one that is made by a righteous man. This prayer again must be effectual and fervent which the Amplified Bible calls Heart-felt prayer. This is the kind you make when you have an issue you are grinding over in your heart. You are passionate about some issues and they have taken all your attention. The issue at hand has arrested all your senses and at that moment you take to prayer. You are not making the Good bless our food kind of prayers which families task their kids to make every time because they think, such prayers are less important. Neither is this the kind of prayer that you make and you are dozing off in between, mumbling your words and you finally give in and hit the bed. At this moment you like a hen sitting over her eggs, so conscious of what you are doing knowing that the process you have embarked in will leave you with little chicks. If you don’t feel the matter in your heart please don’t even pray you are wasting your time. So how do you come to this point where your matter is now heart-felt? Prepare before prayer session, it makes more sense for you to study the scriptures first and make a few notes which you would refer to while you are at it, then you get down to prayer. Like a lawyer prepares for his case, he gathers all the facts and statistics he knows will win him the case. A great man said a lawyer who is not passionate about his case will not win. Guess what, even a Righteous man who is no passionate about his prayer sessions will not win. So if you are not earnest about the issue don’t even bother to start praying, that’s how it works. The Amplified also calls this kind of prayer a continued prayer. Many pray and say I have prayed and I’m leaving the matter to God. If you have been doing that you are in for a rude awakening, God is not going to simply be tasked by your prayer. Listen to me, the effective prayer does not empower God nop! God has all the power and He is not equipped by your prayer. The effectual fervent prayer makes tremendous power available to you not to God. So never leave anything to God because God has left everything to the believer. After you have prayed and you are not convinced in your Spirit that you have settled the matter at hand continue at the matter. Even for some days hit on the same matter, pound on it so much until you know in your heart that you have the victory. Prayer is not leaving suggestions at God’s desk and we come by from time to time to find out if He has solved the matters at hand. Prayer is making tremendous power available to us so that when we go out, we tell Aids to leave and it does so, we tell clients to come and they come, we open new lines of investments and they are a success.
