By conducting a online background check on someone and auditing their online content you can gather more than what you can on face to face interaction. Online social networks bleed information. Every time someone posts, likes, favourites, double taps, or even comment on something on Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest, they create a digital footprint. (data). This data can be mined in search of consistent patterns and/ or systematic relationships between variables that can be used to compute a persons personality from ones tweets/posts or updates. This is how Google, Facebook and other data mining companies make money. On a superficial level, without even using any personality computational or analytical tool, going through somebodys timeline, their likes & shares on Facebook, their Favourites & Retweets on Twitter can provide some clues to their interests, patterns of behaviour, intellect, discipline, emotions and other traits that embody a personality.
