THE IRONY OF THE OKWAGBE CASE: Okwagbe as it is known, is a town by the shore of the River Niger tributaries. The community that is endowed with human resources and political prowess is suffering from a state of total marginalization and neglect. From the community, the following have emerged: (a) The first graduate in Ughievwen clan (b) Two Local govt chairmen (c) SSA to the commissioner of finance, Delta state (d) Commissioner (e) Chairman of urban water board (f) Director of infrastructures, Delta state (g) SSA to governor (h) Director in DLA (i) PS infrastructures, Delta state (j) DG NIFOR, Delta & Edo states (k) Acting DG, DLA (l) DESOPADEC workers (m) Councillors uncountable (n) Directors in different government parastatals. The big QUESTION is this: Who has marginalized the Okwagbe town, is it the indigenes in various position across the state or the government herself? No single street in Okwagbe is tarred. Okwagbe has two WARDS. Below are the various streets road in the community with their appallingly precarious condition. What is the way forward?
