THE KINGS CHAMBER: MYSTERY OF THE MISSING BLOCKS. These photosgraphs, taken in the 1990s, show two original granite blocks on the north-west side of the Kings Chamber of the Great Pyramid. One block is very neatly cut and is believed to have acted as a stopper at the entrance of the chamber. The other block is from an excavation made by the Arabs in medieval times. The photograph with myself (and Adrian Gilbert) taken in March 1993 shows these two blocks very clearly. The last time those blocks were seen was in 1998, when Zahi Hawass was in charge of the Giza Pyramids. What happened to these blocks? Where are they now? Being original granite blocks from the most sacred chamber in history, they would be worth a fortune to a collector. Even fragments would surely fetch a high price.
