THE LATEST WEATHER FORECAST This is long winded, but hopefully not too confusing. If you have any questions, please ask. This is a difficult forecast, and one that can change into the next day. Our 12pm will be active with rain and snow. Our 6pm will be steadier rain and snow. Our 11pm may not be as heavy, but will be messy with most if not all areas seeing snow. Monday’s Daybreak will be light snow showers, but slippery for the morning commute. TONIGHT: LEVEL 1 Seeing some clearing for now, but more clouds return tonight. Areas of patchy fog may develop creating some lowering visibilities. Temperatures holding in the 30s through the evening and overnight. TOMORROW: LEVEL 2 (LIKELY 3) A quick moving clipper will dive down out of Canada on Sunday bringing rain and snow to the area. Light precipitation will begin to fall late morning and pick up into the afternoon. Temperatures will range from the low to mid 30s from north to south. Areas to the far north will likely start and stay as snow through the entire day. Locations along and south if I-70 will mix with or be mainly rain through about dinner time. As the center of the clipper gets closer and passes south, the precipitation will pick up in intensity and become steady at times late afternoon through the evening. Colder air intrudes from the north and everyone will transition over to snow from north to south, if they haven’t already after sunset. Roads will become snow covered and icy through the evening and overnight. Of course the northern counties may be slippery long before sunset because of snowfall from earlier in the day. Snow will taper down and become more scattered after midnight. Temperatures will fall into the 20s and creating more of a fluffy snow that allows it to accumulate quicker and stack up higher. If this colder air arrives sooner, then we could see some higher snow totals. ACCUMULATIONS: US36 & North: 3-5” some locally higher amounts DAY to US36: 2-4” South of DAY: Up to 2” MONDAY: LEVEL 2 (POSSIBLE 3) Monday morning commuters will be driving through some light scattered snow showers. Roads will be messy, especially north and on back streets. Temperatures will be in the 20s and upper teens with wind chills in the single digits. There will likely be school delays and closings. Snow showers will come to end in the morning. Clouds will break for some afternoon sunshine. Temperatures will hold in the 20s through the day. Refreeze is likely Monday night as temperatures drop into the teens by Tuesday morning. TUESDAY: LEVEL 2 Mainly cloudy with some scattered snow showers possible on Tuesday. Another cold day with highs in the upper 20s. WEDNESDAY: LEVEL 1 Highs pressure will bring back some sunshine on Wednesday and a brief warm up. Highs expected in the mid-30s. THURSDAY: LEVEL 2 Another clipper will bring rain and snow showers into the area for Thursday. Highs around 40 degrees.
