THE LAW OF HABIT - : Once a farmer found an abandoned eagles nest and in it was an egg still warm. He took the egg back to his farm and laid it in the nest of one of his hens. The egg hatched and the baby eagle grew up along with the chickens. It pecked about the farmyard, scrabbling for grain. It spent its life within the yard and rarely looked up. One day it looked up and saw mighty eagles soaring. It desired to soar. It started testing it’s wings. Every trial felt so good, the young eagle wanted to try it more and more. However, the chickens became angry and castigate the young eagle. The eagle shared it’s woes with an old owl. “They are angry with me, because I know what I am, said the little eagle. How do you know that they are angry with you? Because, they despise me for wanting to soar, they only want me to peck at the dirt, looking for ants, with them. But I cant do that. I dont have chicken feet, I have eagle wings. And what is so wrong with having eagle wings and no chicken feet? Asked the old owl. Im not sure, thats what Im trying to find out. They hate you because you know that you are an eagle and they want you to think you are a chicken so that you will peck at the ground looking for ants and worms, so that you will never know that you are an eagle and always think yourself a chicken. Let them hate you, they will always be chickens, and you will always be an eagle. You must fly. You must soar. Counselled the old owl. What do you pick from this story? Hope you‘ve learnt something… Blessings
