THE LONG LIE: WAR IS JUSTIFIED BECAUSE YOUR ANCESTORS STOLE MY LAND FROM MY ANCESTORS This lie is at the basis for most of the conflicts around the world. It is not a lie because horrible things did not happen: they did. There has been murder, rape and genocide throughout the history of humanoids. Please note I did not say humans because that is too narrow and misses the essential point that this process of physical, often violent displacement of one kind of humanoid has been going on for over 200,000 years and few, , if any, humans are not the current beneficiaries of that systematic, on-going genocide. Humanoids have been on our planet for something on the order of 200,000 years or more. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaic_humans) There is increasing evidence that more than one distinct from of humanoid has shared the planet at the same time. It appears that most of the primates who fall in the genus (which probably could at least include the existing bonobos) evolved in Africa and migrated in various times out across the planet. Most of the branches retained enough genetic contact that cross-breeding has resulted in one recognizable species dominating the entire globe. (Three distinct lineages are currently identified: African, Neanderthal and Denisovan). Others probably existed but were unable able to interbreed so were annihilated such as the hobbits of Indonesia. . What does seem evident is that almost no tribe currently lives in an area which was not previous occupied by another distinct racial/cultural society which they displaced by some means, fair or foul. I have been fascinated in the last year to learn of earlier occupants of Europe who had blue eyes (Nordic??) but dark skin (African?). It is possible that there were no humanoids in Tasmania when Homo Sapiens arrived, (Though Europeans hunted those who were likely truly native into virtual extinction.) It is possible that some tribes in New Guinea have been continuous in small parts of the island, though I wonder about that with human propensity for conquest. It is possible that some of the bushmen of the Kalahari displaced no other direct members of our species, though they may have eradicated them indirectly or displaced the other humanoids by biological competition for resources. But for the rest for Africa, Asia, Europe, Pacifica, and the Americas, I believe the claims that We are the natives and all others are invaders is probably not true. The oldest human remains in North America was Kennewick Man. (smithsonianmag/history/kennewick-man-finally-freed-share-his-secrets-180952462/?no-ist) There was a politically motivated attempted to prevent the genetic identity from being discovered. In a partial triumph for science over politics. It was finally determined that this ancient human was not ancestral to ANY so called Native Americans. None. I cannot currently find the reference, but remember reading about tribes in Michigan who still had legends of the Ancient Ones who were there when their ancestors arrived. And in Meso America, it fainting that that there are references to the massive carved heads of the Toltec who are supposed to be culturally the ancestors of the Mayan people, but the heads have distinctively African features. Were Africans here before the invasion of the Native Americans? It is not politically polite to say all this. My experience is that it is not to even polite in Hawaii to take too close of a notice that Native Hawaiians is a designation most widely given to the LAST pre-European invasion which pushed the previous occupants of the Islands into the hills, and then regarded them as a excellent source of material with human sacrifice was needed. After all, these hill-dwellers were not members of the last successful invasion. I me mention Hawaii because it is only one of the more recent examples of invaders becoming the natives and suppressing the fact of conquest. In my own, often conquered continent, the Hopi remember that the Navajo conquered land from them years after Columbus began the European invasion. Can we make this truth known: The land I stand on was stolen by me or by my by ancestors. Stolen: taken from another by force. If we start with truth and humility, is peace possible?
