THE MAJESTY OF GOD For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God - Psalm 86:10. Before anyone starts with an important task, he will invariably take time to consider the magnitude of his undertaking. Scientists who study nature require years of intensive research before they are able to gain a reasonable understanding of the vastness of the universe. Ought we not then to take time to get to know our great and wonderful God, so that we might give Him the adoration that is His due? Yet how superficial our knowledge of His greatness tends to be! We do not set aside enough time to bow before Him in adoration, with the result that we fail to gain a real appreciation of His majest and glory. Meditate on the following texts until you are filled with a sense of God and His glory: Psalm 95:3, 6; 145:3-7; Jeremiah 32:17-19. It is not easy to grasp the full meaning of these texts. Therefore, you must give time for the words to sink in and stir your heart until you feel compelled to bow in speechless adoration before God. A genuine comprehension of Gods greatness takes time. But if you honor God as He should be honored, and if your faith grows strong in the knowledge of His greatness and power, you will find yourself drawn to linger in the inner sanctuary where you will bow in humble worship before a great and mighty God.
