THE MAN WHO CONFIDED IN ROYCE... A child who was born in 1958/9 died... only a baby. When Royce went to see the baby, he was beside himself. He told me he thought the baby looked like a little dolly in the coffin... moving on a few years... The man who is known as Jacob in Anonymous Justice told Roy in in confidence that he had got an underage girl into trouble; if her family and his wife found out; it would be the end of him... He told Roy he did think the girl was much older than she actually was... I asked Roy what had happened with the event. I was told when he asked Jacob what had happened, Jacob told him ITS OK ROY, ITS BEEN SORTED! Roy never thought any more about it until many years later. Suspicions ran high. I told Roy what Marjorie the secretary to the police in Dinnington had told me in 1980/1 ... about how she had told me that Anne was in the early stages of pregnancy ... obviously, it made Roy think... now whether that girl was Anne or not we may never know... it is quite possible that Jacob had got another underage girl pregnant... but by the same token... it is also possible that it could have been Anne... Ellis, Wood, Jacob and Roy, were either mates with each other, or related by marriages... Wood had a green Morris with the wooden slats and blacked out back windows... Roy said he had always got loads of Vaseline in the back, using his own kids as the excuse... there was coal dust in the back from Roy and him going coal picking on the Dinnington tip... alongside other members of the family ... Roy himself had a Morris and he said he would lend it out to Ellis on occasion... he loaned Ellis his hammer and never got it back - when he asked Ellis for it; Ellis said he did not know where it had gone... I have seen a photo... it was black and white. Royce was holding one of his little girls and another was in the photo... in the background was Ellis... it is a very long time ago that I was shown it; however, Ellis appeared to be trying to look away... Where is that photo LB now? Or have you got rid of it? Such a shame... if that photo could be shown to SYP, that man may be identified by some of the ladies who described to me a man with a strange nose, who worked at the fair in the late 50s early 60s, and had strawberry blonde/gingery hair... it actually looks darkish in the photo and I commented about that to Roy, but the photo was obviously very old.... I am not saying Anne was pregnant; I am saying what Marjorie told me, after typing up a report for closure...the photos of Anne distressed her terribly... I only got a glimpse of one on my dining room table, and that was enough! Royce himself saw quite a few... he told me how she looked in his words like a young developed woman... after he saw so many, he asked the officers to put them away...
