THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (1) TEXT: “And I will Pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.” John 14:16 When JESUS Christ, our Lord and personal Saviour was leaving this Earth, He left us in a Good and most capable Hand – The Holy Spirit. In the Amplified translation of John 14:16 six words were used to describe the Holy Spirit as Comforter. They are “Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Stand by and Strengthener”. It is important that every Christian get acquainted with these ministries of the Spirit if they are going to be blessed by them. First on the list is Counsellor which means “Adviser on personal problems”. Very few Christians have learnt to take counsel from the Holy Spirit. They look every place else for Help. They tell Secrets of their lives to their friends who cannot help. A mature Christian has a different culture; When he makes mistakes, he talks to God about it. When you need advice seek counsel from God! You might say “Oh, but sometimes, i just want to talk to someone”. Well He is someone! God is a person and it is His role to comfort you. Always seek His counsel. If you must speak to a human being, please be sure that his or her counsel is Holy Spirit-based. Let me close with this Scripture, Ephesians 4:30 – “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption”. He is a gentle Spirit, and can be grieved, and consequently lost. PRAY THIS: Father, never again would I look any where else for help that only you can give. From today, you have my 100% trust, in JESUS Mighty Name, Amen!!! Keep making this Confession/Prayer: I AM Success-filled, I AM Wealth-Filled, I AM Victorious, and I AM Testimony- Filled this Day and forever more, In JESUS Mighty Name!!! Have a Splendid Wednesday!
