THE MIRROR It is true that others my mirror back certain aspects - TopicsExpress

THE MIRROR It is true that others my mirror back certain aspects of one’s personality. The behaviour of others towards oneself may contain certain coded messages. But one needs to be careful with this type of communication. These are some suggestions for effective learning in such situations: • Impartiality and impeccability-one should learn to be an impartial observer of human behaviour, including one’s own conduct. It is difficult, if not impossible to really learn when one is emotionally entangled in an issue. Observe and suspend judgement. Impeccability implies that one is always ready to act in the best possible way and for the best possible outcome, regardless of anything else. Learning from others has practical, evolutionary and aesthetic elements to it. • Silence-this is one of the greatest tools for learning. Silence enables one to transcend the usual behaviour and responses to situations. It also greatly expands the scope of one’s awareness, understanding and options in any situation. • Purpose- this acts as a means to organising energy and awareness. Choices follow purpose. It is difficult to learn, especially under difficult or hostile conditions, when one does not have a clear purpose towards which choices are channelled. • Picking the mirror- not everything has the same value or meaning at all times. Know what to look for in that mirror. You are not going to learn much by merely staring at it. Not every aspect of a person‘s behaviour is intended for or is a reflecting of others. • The whole being-ask the questions: what am I looking at? Which part of the being is talking now? The “reflection” could be from the social, physical or abstract aspect of the person. For example, a person’s behaviour could, in certain situations, be an omen; a message from the abstract, the spirit. • Form and content- separate the message from the form or manner in which it is delivered. For example, if someone tends to be hostile or unfriendly towards you, the hostility or unfriendliness is not necessarily the issue. It could be something else. Don’t make assumptions. The seemingly hostile attitude could be hiding real love or a cry for help. The road to heaven or hell passes through people. The physical environment and other factors can really test our character and endurance. But none are as tenacious and obtuse like our own kind. As a rule, they always aim for the greatest price: our energy, awareness and spirit. The warrior’s rule Never surrender your spirit in a battle. The warrior’s spirit never remains in a battlefield. It is always released. It is possible to lose the battle, to be wounded or even to die in battle. But, the spirit must always survive intact, regardless of the situation. Death is nothing compared to the injury or loss of the spirit.. Learning from others is one of the ways of walking on the path of power. It is also a way of rescuing the essential part one’s being from the vicissitudes of life. Without that part, there is no life, no evolution, no adventure, no learning, no victory and no joy. A warrior, because she has mastered the art of protecting her essence, is always victorious, regardless of the perceived outcome of any battle. Game on!
