THE MISSION The mission of SCORING FLANDERS is to encourage and support the art of scoring for visual media and to promote Flanders as an international destination for the production of motion picture soundtracks across all media platforms. SCORING FLANDERS will serve as the first point of contact for composers and producers interested in bringing scoring projects to Flanders, and as a one-stop resource able to consolidate and coordinate the services required to produce a successful score. SCORING FLANDERS will actively encourage, whenever possible, the use of live musicians, and advocates the preservation of musicality in the emerging field of electronic scoring. ABOUT SCORING FLANDERS SCORING FLANDERS was founded in the summer of 2012 to marshal the talent, resources and passion of three leading forces in the Flemish film music scene in pursuit of a vision: Film Fest Gent, Brussels Philharmonic, and the Galaxy Studios Group. The festival had welcomed the film music world to Flanders; the orchestra had made believers of them; and the studio provided the tools and expertise to make it real. SCORING FLANDERS is a partnership dedicated to building a vital centre for media music production in Flanders, a location that offers unique benefits to producers and composers. Our aim is to establish Flanders as an international destination for scoring of all types. Our wish is for film music artists to feel as much at home on a Flemish scoring stage as they always have at Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Awards.
