THE MOTIVE OF MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS: A LOOK AT JOHN 007 - TopicsExpress

THE MOTIVE OF MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS: A LOOK AT JOHN 007 BANDA Why I despise those who take advantage of the desperate, weak, & vulnerable... Beware of wolves in sheeps skin (or expensive suits) warns the Bible. The same Bible also imposes a moral duty on us to be our brothers keeper, to watch out for one another. WHOSE JOHN 007 BANDA? John Banda is a Zambian who hails from kafue town and moved to Lusaka to do that which we all came to Lusaka for: to make a living, or make a dream come true for those more ambitious. You can say John found his niche here - he is now a successful and popular motivational personality who holds the secret to all round success in his mind and hands, and he sells it to others. Now I have a problem with that...especially when ones methods do not give a benefit to the buyer, or the buyer is deliberately sold impractical sweet solutions instead of the virtue of sweating for sweet. Is Banda an actor or benefactor to his people? I think hes a cunning fellow, which may explain why he goes by his alias 007, taken from the British movie MI-6 character famous for taking on many personalities in his service of the crown. The similarities between Banda and Bond are striking as far as masterful deception goes. Banda is many things, like bond, hes a jack of all trades - hes a motivational speaker, spiritual advisor, life coach, success coach, executive coach, business consultant, sales coach, performance consultant, business profile writer...and much more. But the most astonishing statistic of all is this: by his own humble standards, Banda has allegedly read over 700 books! I dont think thats true - if he has, hes been browsing, not reading. But read that figure 700 backwards, and youll get 007! The devil is in the detail my friend. Ok. So hes read 700 books, but how many has he written and published? 1 (67 pages), one book that is, 700 - 1. He actually borrowed that figure (700) from a story of a man whod never been to school but became advisor to the president of a certain country. But that figure is just to intimidate you coming from him, to keep you reliant on him reading for you, but dont worry, I will recommend just one book for you, not 700. You dont need to read mountains to succeed. John Banda has a good side, he can be a good motivational speaker, he certainly has data, if only he tries to be himself, to be genuine and earnestly try to help people, not trick them to buy from him. But until then, beware of the fast and fluent John 007 Banda. NB: In place of his teachings, look for the following book - THINK & GROW RICH by Napoleon Hill. And then you can read, Poor Dad Rich Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. That should get you started. Goodluck!!!
