★THE NAME ON EVERYBODY’S LIPS IS ROXY★PETRIFIED PUP NEEDS A HOME *$165 in pledges.* LOOK AT THAT FACE. After FRIDAY NOON that’s all that WILL REMAIN. Obedient Roxy needs a little time (30 minutes!) to warm up to people and seems curious with other dogs. She’s terrified and so received a ‘new hope’, but all she needs is a little love to bring out the beautiful soul hiding inside. Just a pup she has plenty of room to grow into a wonderful dog if you’ll give her the chance. With gorgeous markings and a silky smooth coat, this breathtaking girl is the belle-of-the-ball. Can you light up those soulful, scared eyes? Roxy Hart faced the DEATH SENTENCE for a crime she did commit. Roxy is INNOCENT, will you SAVE HER? ROXIE TO BE DESTROYED 08/15/14 Manhattan Center Animal ID # is A1009724. 1 YEAR 8 MONTHS old. A volunteer writes: Beautiful Roxie is with us as her family is moving to a place not allowing pets. Her relinquishment does not sit well at all with her...She paces, sniffs, looks for exits. She is seeking her home, her family..Just as well going after the moon....Her eyes are wide open, meet mine but it seems that she just sees though me. I am sad. I love Roties and their derivatives because yes, Roxie is a cross. She is an elegant and well built female wearing a nice coat with pretty markings. She appears healthy and well nourished. Roxie is visibly scared in her kennel. She does a back and forth, avoids my leash at all costs, growls softly. I have to give her space. I came back later for her. She knew my face and was leashed with less effort this time...Roxie pulls a little , aiming for the gate. She settles for the pen. She comes briefly when I call her and crouches in fear when I pet her head. My heart aches for her. Leashing her back is quite a circus...Roxie is a real artist..Rather than running after her, I finally ...just called her...and leashed her without effort. Silly me. We went for a little walk at a fast pace. She does not even eliminate. Roxie is too tight for even the basics. We meet some staff sitting on a bench. She sticks with me and when passerbys come near, she seems quite wary, expecting it seems the worse from them. Roxie and I are bonding a little. I can not say that she likes me but she puts up with me and now accepts my caresses without flinching or withdrawing. On her way back to her kennel, she sniffs a number of dogs. There is no aggressive stance or growl but we never met a pooch out of its den. I do not know Roxies past other that she was owned and relinquished to us. I know that we do not have in front of us the real Roxie and that she is capable of bettering herself. Just half an our spent together proved me just that.... Roxie needs someone to believe in her.I do.Will you be the one? Roxie is at the Manhattan Care Center.
