THE NDC PORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IS BOGUS AND LACKS MODERN APPLICATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS MECHANISMS CRITICAL THINKERS OF NPP DECLARE ***************************** The recent pronouncement by the President that the new installation of facilities at the tema port will ease congestion and make it efficient is hollow and non-directional. The installation of the new facilities will rather increase congestion, increase security threat and make the port management complex, leading to inefficiency, corruption and hostility to business by taking into account the density of the port as the facilities has already occupied huge areas, coupled with trooping in of containers. The current port management system under NDC lacks quality control and quality assurance control principles application and hence massive corruption, non-attractive and very hostile to business. The critical thinkers of npp therefore challenge the NDC government that our port systems need different dynamic approach of decongestant which will see quality control and quality assurance principles being fully adopted couple with modern application of accounting and administrative principles to make it more efficient, business friendly, resilient, very attractive, security resilient, easy to mobilize resources, easy to manage and above all a destination point for west Africa. Also, it should be able to pool and attract trades.The group however, lauded the idea of the construction of an interchange at the tema round about.
