THE NEW WAY NEVER COMES TO AN END PHINA: Thus says the LORD, “Stand in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls.” (Jeremiah 6:16). It is high time for us to walk in the good old ways and in that old path of holiness; let us not give in to the deception of modernization, which tries to pervert the pure ways of God. EVANGELINE: Neither the Old paths which is the good old way nor modernization will lead you to the Father of life: There is a New Way, which is neither the old paths nor modernization – This new way is the living way, because it is the way of life which God has consecrated for us instead of that old path which you referred: This new and living way is not just a path or pavement, but the blood of Jesus Christ within his flesh. The blood of Jesus is the way and a path for men to get into the holiest of all, and come to the Father: The road to the Father of life is through blood of a Person, Jesus Christ: As it is written, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;” (Hebrews 10:19-20) Therefore, it is no more the good old ways or old paths, but rather it is the new and living way which is in the blood of Jesus: “For Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, for no man comes to the Father except through him” (John 6:14). You must see it this way. PHINA: But in the good old way, one will find rest for his soul: So what is the difference between the Old way and the New way? EVANGELINE: The difference between the old way and the new way is the difference between Oldness and Newness. Oldness comes to an end, but Newness never comes to an end: The ways of God never comes to an end because of ‘Newness’, even though the ways of God has an end because of ‘Reward’: 1. Because of Newness, the ways of God never comes to an end: As it is written, “The Steadfast Love of the LORD, never ceases and his Mercies never comes to an end. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23) – True Love never fails because True Love has newness every morning. 2. Because of Reward, the ways of God has an end: As it is written, “Surely there is an end; and your expectation shall not be cut off.”(Proverbs 23:18). Therefore, everything that is old is coming to an end for old things shall pass away for all things to become new (2 Corinthians 5:17): As it is written, “That which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away” (Hebrews 8:13). PHINA: From the way it is arranged in your last statement, one may think that it is the decaying that makes it to wax old. EVANGELINE: Yes, it is the decaying that makes a thing wax old, just as the Old Covenant decayed before it waxed old (Hebrews 8:13): Oldness means there is the effect of decay, and when things wax old, know that there are decomposing agents eating them up; in the case of the Old Covenant, sin and carnality were eating through the covenant. Decaying agents or decomposing components include moths, rusts, worms, bacteria, viruses, firstborn of death, thieves, and natural adversities generally… The reason you should not lay up treasures here on earth, is because there is corruption which makes things old through decay (Matthew 6:19-20): Therefore it is written, “Sell that you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which does not wax old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”(Luke 12:33-34)
