THE OFFICIAL PLEASANT GROVE HERITAGE SOCIETY https://facebook/groups/142479092590974/ Utopia, Texas, was founded by R.H. Kincheloe when he decided to move his home on Little Creek after an 1866 Indian raid left his wife, Sarah, gravely injured while taking the life of her good friend Cynthia Bolin. Kincheloe called the new settlement Montana but postmaster George Barker subsequently changed the name to Utopia. Sarah Kincheloe was struck seventeen times during the Indian raid but survived the attack and died in 1938. She and Mr. Kincheloe are buried in the Waresville cemetery in Utopia, as is her friend Cynthia Bolin. On Bolins grave reads the following words: Farewell Dear Friends I Can No Longer Stay The Vile Hands of Indians Have Taken Me Away
