THE POWER OF HOPE You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you; therefore I command you this thing today. Deuteronomy 15:15 After God brought judgment upon the world through the Flood, He remembered Noah. Though He had dealt harshly with the world and rebellious humanity, God remembered Noah. Later we read that when Noah and his family landed on dry land and stepped off the ark, Noah brought an offering to the Lord. So not only did God remember Noah, but Noah also remembered God. That is something we need to do: remember God. We need to remember all that He has done on our behalf. The scriptures exhort us to remember our Creator in the days of our youth. Not only are we told to remember the Lord when we are young, but we are also told to remember Him when things go well for us and life becomes sweet. The Lord cautioned Israel about the dangers of taking His blessings for granted. It is easy to remember God when we are surrounded by trouble and need help. However, after the Lord sends help to get us out of our predicament, we turn around and go on our merry way without pausing to thank Him. Many of us have forgotten where we were when Christ found us. All too soon, we have forgotten the times of despair we were in until the Lord came our way. We have forgotten the days of tears and darkness when our lives had lost all meaning till the Lord stepped in and turned on the light. As Christians, we are to remember the Lord in our days of blessing. Why dont you spend some time today to remember the Lord for all that He has done for you? Prayer: I remember You today, O Lord, for all your goodness in my life. Scriptural Reading: Deuteronomy 15:12-18
