THE POWER OF THOUGHTS! Our thinking is powerful. It has the power to effect who and what we are. I have met people who have allowed their minds to get out of control or out of balance. Our thoughts have a powerful influence in our lives. A.W. Tozer says the following: ‘Our thoughts not only reveal what we are, but they predict what we will become. We will soon become the sum total of our thoughts.’ The condition of our hearts is very important. The condition of a person’s heart is the key to what eventually comes out of him or her. It starts with the condition of our hearts. Our thoughts are the response to the condition of our hearts. What we become and the way we act are the result of the thoughts. Example: Fearful heart = Fearful thoughts = Fearful living. Jesus explained this: Mark 7:15 ‘Nothing outside a man can make him unclean, ….. rather it is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean.’ Vs. 20: ‘What comes out of a man is what makes him unclean.’ Vs.21: ‘For from within, out of men’s hearts come evil thoughts. Vs.23: ‘All these evils come from inside and make a man unclean.’ It is for this reason that we need to evaluate the condition of our hearts.
