THE PROGRESSIVES AND THE CONSERVATIVES When in 1999, after the war against class tyranny was won and Yoruba people overwhelmingly voted in AD which represented the progressives then, it was fine. Our people were not swayed by blatant lies and some money. When in 2003 our people protested the dubious appropriation of progressivism, and the growing disconnect of their emergent leaders by sacking AD and voting PDP en-mass, it became a case of official presidential highhandedness. By 2011, when almost the entire southwest had been completely overrun by ACN, nobody complained about blatant lies and some money though we saw a lot of those being thrown about. Now that the people are reemphasizing their independent mindedness by starting to vehemently reject these usurping rogue progressives AS EXPECTED, unsavoury stories and theories are abounding about blatant lies and some money and even about security presence. If I may ask, when PDP lost in 1999 were there no blatant lies and some money? When the party lost again in 2011, were there no blatant lies and some money? Did our progressives not equally deploy blatant lies and some money? The truth is that the people in power today in the southwest, and the desperadoes currently in opposition haggling to displace them are entirely of the same breed lacking in the basic leadership traits of sincerity, capacity, integrity and strategy. Until a new leadership cadre emerges to genuinely and dedicatedly pursue and entrench the aspirations of our people, the passing-round-the-basket will remain the exclusive affair between the BAD and the NOT GOOD disguising in all forms of names ranging from AD to PDP to AC to ACN to APC to LP and all what not. In the meantime, let the sincerely ignorant or passive collaborators continue to invent spurious theories that WILL NOT stop the tide of time. Our people are on an unstoppable march of rescuing themselves from local oppression and internal terrorism that have driven their backs against the wall. Ultimately as events unfold, the battle will become a fierce and grotesque engagement between the people and the oppressors by whatever names called as the people become aware that currently there is no significant difference between the clueless conservatives and the plundering progressives. Eventually, which side would you be, the peoples or their oppressors? TIME WILL TELL. Ire o.
