THE PURPOSE BEHIND DELAYED PROMOTION - PS. 75:6, GEN. 41:1 – 14, 1 SAM. 16:1 – 13, 2 SAM. 2:1 – 4; 5:1 – 3 Share Bible in a year: Job 28:1-30:31, 2 Corinthians 2:12-17, Psalm 42:1-11, Proverbs 22:7 1. That God allows for our promotion to be delayed like Joseph, it is to purify our motives. God wants you to have right motives for whatever He is offering you. 2. To test our inner attitudes and values. There are some tests that God allow to come our way to see whether we are ready for promotion. There is a test of our inner attitudes and values. 3. To allow for development and maturity of our character. A minister of the gospel’s promotion into higher dimensions of the anointing, for example, can be delayed by God so that the message he will give can be fully born of the development of his character. 4. He allows the delay of our promotion so that we can submit our own will to His will. However long it takes you to submit your will, that’s how long your promotion will take. When Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane, He prayed and the Father said no, this is my will and He said ‘not as I will but as you will’. So, He brings us to a place that our will is submitted. 5. Sometimes, when you have wrong visions in your heart, God will allow your promotion to be delayed so that the vision can die. 6. When we are going about our promotion in man’s own way and not God’s own way, God allows the delay. God knows exactly what success is going to do to you. God knows what promotion will do to you and if it is going to do something wrong to you, God will delay it until you get it right. 7. For the development of true humility. Unless true humility is developed in you, you won’t be able to handle serious promotions. Prayer: Lord, I receive divine awareness to your involvement in my life and I choose to cooperate with them, have your way and have your say in my life in Jesus name. Amen.
