THE RANGERS FOREVER From boy to man I’ve loved my team, My famous Rangers rule supreme. No matter where they go to play, We Follow Follow all the way. Since that great year eighteen seventy two, We’ve watched in awe those boys in blue. Those 4 young men, no strips, no ball, From that day forth were walking tall. When they joined the ranks of this new game, Football would never be the same. For once the Gers had built their side, No other team could match their pride. In those early years we put down our mark, Both on and off the football park. Fund-raising games to give some aid, To Celtic, Hibs, no hate displayed. Tentative years of progress came, Fans turned up to every game. This young team was going places, When they scored a goal, joy filled their faces. As momentum grew we needed a Park, To light and match our glowing spark. Dear old Ibrox was built for the Royal Blue, Majestic to behold for the loyal and true. A few years past, many honours won, Then came the call to fight the hun. The Great War came causing millions to fall, Both players and fans died answering the call. And in ’24 cup success seemed forlorn, Until up-stepped Davie Meiklejohn. With nerves of steel his penalty crashed, Into the net, cup hoodoo smashed. To William Struth of honour and grace, Immaculate dress was put in place. “To play for the Rangers you need real class”, To this great man I’ll raise a glass. Fantastic players, too many to recite, They gave their all in the Rangers fight. Vallance, McNeil and Waddell too, To Alan Morton we all love you. From long days past to the present here, No Rangers fan should ever fear. For we’ll be here when the sun dies out, “THE RANGERS FOREVER” we’ll scream and shout.
