THE REAL TRUTH: THE REAL ENEMIES OF MR MAURICE UKPONG !!! Mr. Maurice Ukpong contested an election with Mrs Felicia Essang-Oludare for the vacant position of President Oron Union, Lagos Branch (OULB) in March, 2012. The election was won by Mrs Felicia Essang –Oludare but was disputed by Mr. Maurice Ukpong. Mr. Ukpong went to Court and efforts were made to resolve the matter which ended in a “Secret Agreement” eventually the Agreement was breached by both parties. Mr. Maurice Ukpong conducted a General Election on the 2nd of February, 2014 and was elected “unopposed” while Mrs Felicia Oludare conducted her version of General Elections on 2nd March, 2014 and was elected “unopposed”. Mr. Maurice’s election was not recognised so he went to the Federal High Court to compel the handing over of the documents/instruments/bank Accounts authorities, etc. While the case is still at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, COTR intervened and summoned both parties to appear before them. On the first day the case came up in Oron both of them promised COTR to be bound by COTR’S JUDGMENT. Accordingly, COTR applied to the Federal High Court and the Court accepted that the Royal Fathers should intervene. After hearing both parties, COTR delivered a RESOUNDING JUDGMENT, THE MAIN POINT WHICH IS AS FOLLOWS:- “The two successive elections held by the parties in February 2014 and March 2014 respectively are declared illegal, unacceptable and, therefore cancelled. Another free and fair election is to be held on Sunday, 7th September, 2014 in which the President and the Executive Members of Oron Union, Lagos Branch would be freely and fairly elected. The tenure of the new Executive to be so elected would take retrospective effect from April, 2014 and stay for two years, ending in March, 2016. The above election would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Oron Union Constitution. HRH Offong E.M. Unanaowo, HH Offong Etim O. Oquong and Chief K.B. E. Abia would serve as Co-Ordinators. One member each is to be drawn from Uyo, Calabar and Port Harcourt Branches of the Union to serve as Observers.” Both parties apparently accepted the Judgment because Mr. Maurice Ukpong even approached Mrs. Felicia Essang-Oludare afresh to pressurize her to step down for him, she allegedly refused to step down and insisted on contesting the fresh elections. Mr. Maurice later called a meeting wherein it was allegedly said that it was resolved by “his supporters” that he will not contest the election again but will stand by the “Secret Agreement of 2012” Accordingly, a letter was written rejecting the Judgment of COTR. SO MR. MAURICE UKPONG IS NOT WILLING AND CANNOT FACE THE REGISTERED MEMBERS OF ORON UNION, LAGOS BRANCH IN A FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS TO BE CONDUCTED BY A NEUTRAL BODY, BUT WOULD WANT TO BE THEIR PRESIDENT. MR AYO FAYOSE, while reacting to the news that MR FAYEMI & APC were rejecting the result of the Ekiti State Governorship Elections in 2014 said “If the election is conducted 10 times I will win 10 times”. COMRADE ADAMS OSHIOMOLE after filing the case to challenge the results of the Elections in 2007 said “Professor Osunbor cannot swear the Holy Bible or by traditional means that he won the elections. He knew I won and if the elections is conducted 5 times I will still win.” The following persons contested their elections twice after cancellation and won. GOV IDRIS of Kogi State, GOV IMOKE of Cross River State, GOV SYLVIA of Bayelsa State, GOV NYARKO of Adamawa State. Numerous elections are either nullified and re-contested or part of the elections re-conducted even that involving DR CHRIS NGIGE and PROF DORA AKUNYILI of blessed memory. The question that we are unable to avoid is WHO ARE THE REAL ENEMIES OF MR MAURICE UKPONG? 1. Is it MRS FELICIA ESSANG-OLUDARE? I will say no, because she is entitled to an ambition to contest the election against Mr Maurice Ukpong. 2. Is it MR MAURICE UKPONG himself? I will say no, because he has every right to vie for and contest for any office to serve OULB. 3. Is it the OULB members who voted for Mr Maurice Ukpong in 2012 elections? I will say no, because they had the right to vote for an Oron son who contested an election to any post in Oron Union. 4. Is it the OULB members who voted for Mrs Felicia Essang-Oludare in 2012 elections? I will say no, because they had the right to vote for an Oron daughter who contested an election to any post in Oron Union. 5. Is it the persons/people who were in Oron Community House and chorused ‘unopposed’ on the 2nd day of February, 2014? I will say no because they were there to pronounce that chorus on that day. 6. Is it the persons/people who were in Ijesha and voted for Mrs Felicia Essang-Oludare on the 2nd day of March, 2014? I will say no because they were there to re-elect her for a 2nd term in office on that day. 7. Is it some Oron Union, Lagos Branch members who are not in support of Mr Maurice Ukpong? I will say no, because based on the crises at Lagos, every member has right to support any of the 2 persons until the crises is resolved. 8. Is it the COTR members? I will say no, because they only stepped in as Royal Fathers to try to resolve the problem and any decision they took will be in their own wisdom efforts to resolve the crises and bring peace to Oro. Accordingly, ther is no need to refer to them as “very hungry COTR members” as done by Mr Maurice Ukpong and Mr Edet Ambang. 9. Is it those who gathered at Oron Community House on the 17th day of August, 2014 and who lent their support and advised Mr Maurice Ukpong to reject COTR’S Judgment and never to re-contest the elections because he will fail? I will say YES, because whosoever,(A) advised Mr Maurice Ukpong to reject COTR’S Judgment (B) Should not re-contest the elections because Mrs Felicia Essang-Oludare will win (C) in one way or another advised Mr Maurice Ukpong that he must be President of OULB even though he is not recognised anywhere (D) who insist that Mr Maurice Ukpong must be President of Oron Union Lagos Branch based on a “Secret Agreement”. (E) If you are among those who say whether there is Oro or not Mr Maurice Ukpong must be President, OULB. (F) If you are among those who argue that the case in Court will drag for at least 2 years and Mr Maurice Ukpong might have ‘ruled’ and complete a tenure of 2 years YOU ARE ALL THE REAL ENEMIES OF MR MAURICE UKPONG. Posterity will not be fair to the enemies of Mr Maurice Ukpong, because when all the dust settles all the enemies of Mr Maurice Ukpong would take a walk with their lives. IF MR MAURICE UKPONG WAS TO CONSULT ME FOR AN ADVICE I WILL TELL HIM, MY BROTHER, YOU HAVE 2 (TWO) OPTIONS OPEN FOR YOU, ONE, ACCEPT THE JUDGMENT OF COTR, CONTEST A FREE AND FAIR ELECTION FOR PRESIDENT OULB, ESPECIALLY AGAINST MRS FELICIA ESSANG-OLUDARE AND LET THE REGISTERED MEMBERS SPEAK OR TWO STEP DOWN AND WAIT TILL 2016 TO RE-CONTEST AGAINST A FRESH CANDIDATE. MR MAURICE UKPONG, my free advise to you is as follows: I beg you in the name of Virgin Mary (being from a consummate Catholic Family). I beg you in the name of Jesus Christ. I beg you in the name of the Almighty God don’t chicken out of the Free and Fair Election. A leader does not exercise fear to contest an election, if the people really want you. It will ever and always be said that Mr Maurice Ukpong was scared of contesting a free and fair elections against Mrs Felicia Essang-Oludare and he chickened out. You will always be referred to as “Secret-Agreement-President”. It is more honourable to contest the elections and lose than to be afraid of contesting to lose. Please don’t give up. You are still relevant in Oro. If the election date of 7th September, 2014 is too short to campaign, ask for postponement till Sunday 5th October, 2014 or Sunday 2nd November, 2014, after all COTR’s Judgment says “The tenure of the new Executive to be so elected would take retrospective effect from April, 2014 and stay for two years, ending in March, 2016.” By virtue of your position, you know all the Registered Members of OULB, You even have their phone numbers, open up campaign, appeal to them, ‘beg’ them to vote for you. God bless you as you take a final decision on this matter. Please know your real enemies. I still remain your brother.
