THE REJECTION OF THE PROUD. "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, GOD RESISTETH THE PROUD.." "The Lord will destroy the house of the proud." "Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord,." "Pride goeth before destruction and an haughty spirit before a fall." ( James 4:6a: Proverbs 15:25: 16:5,18 ) Both God and men reject the protd. While God resists the proud, men resent the proud. The proud is the one who thinks, feels and shows himself above other people. Some people are proud because of their beauty, or strength, or attainments or position in the society or even religion. A man may have nothing and still be proud, thinking himself to be something when he is nothing. There is "a proud look" ( Proverbs 6:17 ) There is "the pride of life" ( 1 John 2:16 ) There is also the lanpuage of pride " Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?" ( Daniel 4:30 ) God hates the life, look and language of pride. God bless you
