THE SCIENCE-OF-EXPERIENCE As these combined clips illustrate, Mindfulness is now being taken seriously, and applied as an intervention ... to good effect: youtu.be/sMsUGB_KV7s Isnt that interesting? Great as this all appears to be, what if it were possible to present the principles that pointed people towards the true-nature of Mindfulness ... and so towards their inside-out true nature? What if people began to understand the source of their wellbeing as opposed to playing games with it? What if layering up thought upon thought with an intervention, a technique, a process ... and getting all serious and worked-up simply as a result of an innocent misunderstanding of true-nature ... proved to be unnecessary? What if, simply as a result of understanding their true-nature, people found themselves to be living nicer, healthier lives? Just as with any belief, faith or habit, if it feels as if its doing you good, carry on doing whatever it is. The proviso is, naturally, that your resultant actions present no harm either to yourself or to others. All I suggest is that, despite people getting all seriously excited about the percentage improvement in peoples wellbeing and performance (for whatever reason), perhaps there is a better way. PLEASE, lets just be open to the possibilities. Is it possible that simply understanding our true-nature (the source of instinct, intuition, motivation all aka good old common-sense) could result in people being able to self-correct, to perform better, to prevent problem behaviours, to feel happier? I look forward, soon, to the day that those at the BBC (and those, say, at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre viz Prof Mark Williams, Dr Danny Penman, John Teasdale, Zindel Segal, Prof Jon Kabat-Zinn, Sir Mark Waller, Richard Davidson, Prof Dinesh Bhugra CBE, Lady Patten of Barnes, Viscountess Cowdray, His Holiness The Gyalwang Drukpa, Baron Layard of Highgate, Sue MacPherson, Esther Riggs, Maret Dymond et al) will be talking about the benefits of taking life less seriously, understanding the source of all problems and solutions and of The Three Principles as a metaphor for people living a nicer, happier, more fruitful life. Im not saying dont meditate. Im simply saying that people dont need to meditate ... they simply need to find and insightfully understand their truth, inside-out. The evidence is both outside-in (in-form) and inside-out (in-formlessness) and that better way is now available for all people to know, understand and put into practice. The evidence (in support of The Three Principles as a no-non-sense understanding leading to peoples individual prevention of depression & enhancement of potential is seen to be clearly possible. And that wellbeing is possible without the need for science-&-ancient-wisdom combo (e.g. Mindfulness) is a wonderful awareness. With respect to The Three Principles, the evidence and data will be captured and presented as both the demonstrable science-of-wellbeing and mostly as the science-of-experience.
