THE SEED OF HUMILITY humility is one of the greatest virtue any man can have, Jesus Christ our lord was a great example of humility, despite the fact that HE was a king he brought HIMSELF so low to relate with the poor & the less privileged, HE said as much in (Mark 2 vs 17) when some pharisees accused HIM of dining with the less privileged HE replied them saying people who are well do not need doctor, i have not come to call respectable people but i have come for the less privileged, the destitute, the poor, the outcasts what is humility? humility is the act of not thinking highly of oneself, the quality of relating with people of all class without any negative sentimental biased syndrome, consequences of lack of humility there are different consequences to lack of humility, like a saying goes pride goes before a fall the bible has some great men who fell from grace to grass because of pride and you know that pride is the absence of humility, a man or woman who has pride lacks humility. in the bible when king Nebuchadnezzar became proud & ascribed his greatness to his own power & might God humbled him & stripped him of all his wealth & sent him into the wilderness to live & dine with the bush animals for seven years (Dan 4 vs 30 - 33) later when he recovered he acknowledged God by saying God can humble anyone who acts proudly ( Dan 4 vs 37). Nebuchadnezzar was lucky that after everything he was restored back to honour, but king Herod was not so lucky, in (Acts 12 vs 21 - 22) Herod ascribed god-ism to himself & when the sycophants around him said Herod is not a man but a god just to sing his praises & fan his pride, Herod gloried in that sentence instead of rebuking them, at once the angel of God struck him down & he was eaten by worms & died. the bible says in ( prov 11 vs 2) people who are proud will soon be disgraced, it is wiser to be modest God hates pride, so in all things that we do let us try & be humble, in all things let us reverence God, HE alone gives all good things & no matter what we may think we are or have in life it is by HIS grace that we are opportuned to have it. even the devil got his power from God, No man nor woman is anything without God, directly or indirectly. so let us shun pride & embrace humility, in all we do. Alleluia!
