THE SWAPATHGAMI WALKOUTS-WALKON NETWORK INVITES YOU FOR THE GIFT CULTURE CYCLE YATRA JAN 24- 31, 2015... You might have done or heard of Cycle Yatra, but you will find this one very different. It is a week-long Learning Journey into the tribal area of Umariya Dist, near Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh. We will be exploring the REAL TREASURE OF TRIBAL LIFE STYLE AND WISDOM in this unique “BIN PAISE CYCLE YATRA”. We will be cycling through the JUNGLE and the VILLAGES and spend the nights in villages every day without use of any money. WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THIS CYCLE YATRA? - It is not a RALLY to carry a message for others or teach others, but a KHOJ YATRA (Learning Journey), in which we focus on LEARNING from the villagers. - It is not a RACE or a COMPETITION, where one person wins and others lose. It is a journey based on co-operation, where we all support each other. We cycle at the pace of the SLOWEST. - We are not TOURISTS (or not on a PICNIC) with heavy bags and electronics. We carry a minimum stuff that we really need. NO CELLPHONES! NO CAMERAS! NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES OR GADGETS! - We are not CONSUMERS, who go on Yatras to SHOP! We believe in EXCHANGE and sharing GIFTS. We carry NO MONEY, but the GIFTS of various SKILLS, TALENTS, and IDEAS to create better worlds together. - We don’t get things for FREE, since we carry no money. We work (Physical Labor) with people to earn our food everyday! - We have NO PRIMARY HEALTH KIT! We travel as a community, where we all TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER, by using NATURAL METHODS OF HEALING, like – Herbal Plants, Traditional Home Remedies, Massage, Acupressure etc. ...And let us not forget that most important is to enjoy nature, creating music, dance, theatre, games and fun filled adventures! WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING ALONG? - A few pairs of cloths. - A sleeping bag or a mattress with a blanket. - A torch, in case you need to go out in the dark. - Gifts/skills and ideas that you would like to share with others. - Any other things that you need for daily use.
