THE THINKER’S BURDEN “None is more burdened than the few thinkers, who live ahead of their times, amidst a throng of ill-informed compatriots who are decades behind their own times. None appears weirder than the sane minds in a hub of irrational population that is shackled to ignorance and self-obliterating philosophies. No hearts are more troubled than those of the anxious seers, who dread the fate of an undiscerning people who learn not from their own history. No assets are more squandered than the scarce voices of reason drowned by the cacophonous clatters of a witless society. No souls agonize more than those of the enlightened few who watch the most vulnerable despondently deifying those who indoctrinate and exploit them with ethnic affinity, political doctrines, and religious ideologies. No ambiances are more anguished than those of the liberated entities who watch their brainwashed countrymen and women weaving the ropes with which the tormentors hang them. Yet, nothing is worse than bemoaning the pleasure of living ahead of one’s time. No one is more unappreciative than those who bewail being the seers in a sightless society. None is more privileged than the few thinkers who dwell among a multitude of conventional people. No one is more charitable than the trail-blazing few who become lights in dark places. When all is said and done, posterity shall lessen the burden of the saddled thinkers outnumbered by a horde of self-deprecating citizens who worship their own oppressors.” – DELE AJAJA
