THE TIME FOR CHANGE IS NOW !!!! After the meeting whit the representatives from the Port Authority R.M. Larrabee Director of port commerce, Bethann Rooney Manager of port security and Johnn Nardi Presiden of the New York Shipping Association to talk about all the issues that we have in the port we can see that still not a easy solutions that can take place right now, the challenges dont have a fast solution that we can see in the next couple of weeks but something was for sure this time no only Port Drivers but also trucking companies are pushing for fast results. In addition to the resolutions allready stablish by the task force another issues ware stablish like the need to stablish a direct relationship whit the ILA and the drivers to stablish a better system of communication so we can star working togheter and in harmony so we all can understand the challenges and issues we face inside the terminals every day . In our behalf we really think this is a issue that we need to work together whit the ILA representatives to increase the productivity in the ports and we hope that we can have that meeting ASP to look for a solution that will help all of us.... The other main issue was the way trucking companies and Port Drivers are being affected by the chassis that are lowering the CSA scores which in the long run is causing increases in their insurances cost, more DOT audits loss of custumers for their high risk this records can show when custumers are looking for a trucking companie and for us the inability to get a job. We want to thank the Port Authority representatives for alist Trying to do something and for agree to have more meetings like this in the near future so we can get upgrades and how this challenges are being fix.... It looks that the time for change is here and we all agree that if we dont act now the future of this port maybe suffering more customers moving to other ports in this will affect all of us Port Drivers Trucking companies and Long Shorman too!!!
