THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED ON THE TWO- DAYS PROTEST IN OKE-MOSAN. At first,it is dishearten to watch on television some elderly men telling lies against the students of Olabisi Onabanjo University who were at the gate of governors office protesting peacefully for a legitimate demand- schools reduction to #50,000 across board amongst others. Equally, the event that led to the shutting- down of the school campuses and militarising the student communities violated the principle of democracy which pose a threat to our young democracy. These inhuman action of the state is totally unacceptable and uncharitable. As a student of political science and public administration,I will briefly analyse the concept of development and ideal practice of public administration such that one will have an adequate understanding of how a peoples oriented state works. Conceptually, development implies increase in skill and capacity, greater freedom,creativity,self-discip line, responsibility and material well-being.It is imperative to the state to progress the society on the basis of justice, equity and adequate welfare to it citizenry. Generating fund to finance the state project is from two major angles-federal allocation and internal generated revenue-tax and annexing into the state resources. It is instructive to note that, education is not a source of income for the state rather a social responsibility of the state to it citizenry. Suffice to understand that education as a social responsibility of the government is the bed- rock of every development and is an essential social factor in progressing the society and advancing humanity.
