‘THE UNEXPECTED’ (Part: 2) ‘Have you been crazy all this while? What are you trying to do? Don’t you know how risky it is to stand here? And that too at this point of point’, said the voice. She was breathless for a second. Her mind was trying hard to remember him, but somehow her memory was lost. And in a while she fainted. Life is not that easy, it’s not easy to take heart-breaks after living a life of a princess. And when all your relations give up at the same time, it’s even more dreadful. So was it for ‘Kiara’. Last six years had been her real life. She had everybody in life. From perfect parents, friends, best friends, school to a ‘silly & immature’ yet ‘cute & innocent’ boyfriend. She never complained of anything, & even if she did the solution to her problem was ready at hand. She never complained of the silly behavior of her boyfriend, maybe because she was too much in love to realize that he was ‘IMMATURE’. She enjoyed every moment back then. Her ‘BEST FRIENDS’ were her strength, pride, confidence. She felt she could do wonders if they were with her. And her boyfriend was the blush of her face. Kiara never had the ‘PERFECT RELATIONSHIP’ stuff. She never had late night talks, holding hands, surprising gifts, long drives, candle-light dinners, or even the sitting of together in a class in school. All she had were silly arguments, unfulfilled expectations, and the regular texting which she used to send. As a girl, she didn’t want to miss out anything on her part in her relationship. Though her expectations were very high, yet she didn’t want to make it obvious. She took sole initiatives of maintaining a relationship. Sometimes it was tough, but the friends she had, made her life as such that the “silly & immature” stuff hardly mattered. And everything was just so perfect. But like all things come to an end, however good or bad it is, so was this destined to. There was doubt in friendship & love. There were questions put to Kiara to which she didn’t want to answer. Not because she didn’t have any answer, but because her confidence was shattered. She knew whatever she answers, wouldn’t be believed by a single soul. And when you know that your “BESTFRIENDS” & “LOVE” doubt you, how can you even expect from others. So she had to give up, give up on her life. It was ten ‘o’ clock in the morning when she woke up, her sleeping pills had been so powerful, that no matter who dropped in her room, she wouldn’t have realized. No sooner did she get up, she realized she wasn’t sleeping in her room. A feeling of rage ran through her heart, body & soul. She stood up at once merely balancing her foot on the floor. She had been weak, due to the regular intake of sleeping pills. She turned back to see and the man who had forbidden her mission of “SUICIDING” accomplished, was standing there. “Good Morning Kiara! How are you feeling now? Are you okay? You had been really crazy last night”, said the boy, getting into the room holding a tray with morning coffee and breakfast.” “Rohan, why the hell am I here? And who even gave you the permission to get me here? Just because I am a girl next door, and in the absence of my parents, you think you own me? I know the mindset of you guys, you wanted to ruin me! Like HE did! But just listen once and for all; I am not a girl who would get into your trap. And why do you even care as to what am I going through right now? That’s simply “NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.” She had tears in her eyes while uttering these words. She didn’t even wait long to listen to what Rohan had to say and left banging the door behind. Rohan & Kiara had been neighbours. And their parents knew each other long before they discovered. Rohan studied in different school from Kiara, yet he wanted to keep that bond of love and affection with Kiara. And he did his every little bit to make her feel special. On the other hand, Kiara was too blind to see all this. She regarded him as one of his “just friends”. Rohan knew that Kiara wasn’t interested in him, & that she already had a “SOMEONE SPECIAL” in her life. Yet he didn’t want to make his love obvious. Rohan wasn’t aware of the present reality. He didn’t know what was haunting Kiara, all he knew was she wasn’t the same cheerful, bubbly girl next door that she used to be. Kiara’s parents had been out for a week for a family wedding which was supposed to be held in Pune. And being a good neighbor, Rohan had been looking after the girl at regular intervals. Last night he had been awake to help himself with a glass of water when he saw that Kiara’s main door was left open. He hurried to look for her and soon found her on the terrace all alone. No sooner did Kiara leave the room, Rohan was already into thoughts of what wrong had he done? Kiara had never spoken to him like this before nor had he seen her so depressed with rage. He was certain that there was something wrong with her. After long process of thoughts and suggestion in his mind, he decided to make it up, and write a letter to the girl next door. What does Rohan write to Kiara? And how does she react to this? Is Rohan the one who would take out Kiara of this mess? Is he the guy for her?
