THE WORLD WE LIVE IN FORMER US OFFICIALS BENEFITING FROM ‘BIG BROTHER STATE’ Mon Jul 22, 2013 5:16AM Government contractors and former US military and intelligence officials are benefiting handsomely from “the Big Brother state” they have created, an analyst said. Super-secret FISA court has extended the authority of the National Security Agency (NSA) to gather and keep data of phone calls made by millions of Americans. Booz Allen Hamilton, a government contractor and former employer of American whistleblower Edward Snowden, is one of the biggest contractors to the NSA, American author and investigative journalist Dean Henderson said Sunday. “Its board of directors is loaded with ex-generals and ex-Pentagon officials and [are] making tons of money off of Big Brother spying,” he added. Last month, Snowden blew the whistle on the US government’s surveillance programs. Henderson criticized the US mainstream media for trying to portray Snowden as a traitor to his country. However “according to a recent poll 55 percent of Americans think Snowden is a whistleblower as opposed to 34 percent who think he is a traitor,” he added. Henderson hailed Snowden for having the courage to step forward and demand an end to the US’s global spying programs which he slammed as a total “waste of money.” “All these fiscal conservatives, as they call themselves, they don’t mind spending billions and billions of dollars on this Big Brother state we are creating.”
