THEOPNEUSTOS “GOD BREATHED” SATURDAY, AUGUST 23RD 2014 TITLE: DURABILITY OF MENTORSHIP MESSAGE BY PASTOR CHARLES JEREMIAH 6:17 “Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.” Who is a mentor? A mentor is a wise and trusted counselor or teacher to someone. Your mentor is that person who has a strong influence in your decisions. That person you allow access in your development process. And can I tell you something? The day you stop needing development through mentorship, that day you start dying. Show me a man who despises, neglect or does not believe in mentorship, I will tell you with all assurance that, that is a man whose life is full of irreparable blunders and mistakes. Our first mentor is God. God has given us the Holy Spirit and a book to mentor as many that can sincerely go through and into the book – The bible. If you reject the mentorship of God through the bible and the Holy Spirit, you have brought rejection upon yourself. In any area of your life you refuse to allow God mentor you and you refuse to see any reason to follow God’s mentorship, that area of your life will suffer break down. The church is another platform God made available for your mentorship. Hear this; whenever you find yourself planted in a church, you must understand that you are in a school. Church is a training ground. The church of Jesus is a home for great development. In church you are taught the things of God and giving room to exercise your gifting so that you can be beneficial to the outside world. Rebellious people cannot be mentored. No wonder they crash but after today I see you giving yourself wholly to positive mentorship. Proverbs 4:13 “Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.” Stop living your life as you want, in the multitude of counsel, there is safety. PRAYER AND DECLARATION FATHER, I GIVE MYSELF TO GOD ORDAINED MENTORSHIP OVER MY LIFE AND DESTINY. I DECLARE, I WILL NEVER FAIL.
