THERE ARE AND CAN BE ONLY 3 MIASMS : According our great Master Dr . Samuel Hahnemann there are only 3 Miasms in this Universe . He mentioned this in the Aphorism 74 ; This Aphorism 74 is the most important , most neglected and most misunderstood aphorism in the book of Organon of Medicine . Hahnemann has confessed in the “ Introduction to Chronic diseases ” that his most important discovery was not the Discovery of Homoeopathy but the Discovery of Miasms . In a letter to Dr . Friedrich Golthelf Baugmaster , Dr. Hahnemann wrote in 1820 ; “ In the Homoeopathic writings as yet Published , there is still lacking the great Keystone which binds together all that has been so far published so that we may be able to improve the treatment of Chronic diseases ” . He further writes , by thousands of experiments , I have at last attained my object ; None of my pupils as yet know anything of this “ Invaluable discovery ” , the work of which to mankind exceeds all else that I have ever discovered and without which all existing Homoeopathy remains defective or imperfect . And this Aph . 74 holds the great keystone , the keystone which solved the mystery of Incurable diseases . The keystone which revealed that the organism revolts in only 3 different ways to give rise to 3 different type of diseases at the base of which are the Miasms - Psora , Sycosis and Syphilis . On page 34 in “ The Chronic diseases ” Dr . Hahnemann says - In Europe and also in other continents so far as is known , according to all investigations , only Three Chronic Miasms are found , the diseases caused by which manifest themselves through local symptoms and from which most , if not all the chronic diseases originate ; namely , first Syphilis which I have also called the Venereal disease ; then Sycosis or the Fig-wart disease and finally the Chronic disease which lies at the foundation of the eruption of itch ; that is the Psora ; which I shall treat at first as the most important . Modern researchers say that inflammation is the first response of an organism to cell injury . The two morphological defense responses are only secondary to the first one ; the primary response of inflammation is from childhood and no individual can survive without it . Therefore Psora ( inflammation ) is the mother of all diseases . Sycosis and Syphilis are only Secondary to Psora because the destructive and constructive pathologies cannot exist without the primary inflammation . Since nobody can survive without the first physiological response nobody can be free of Psora . All the Diseases like Tuberculosis , Cancer etc ., are due to the combination of the three Miasms . There is no other Miasm like Tubercular miasm etc ., In all the grave diseases also there will be Inflammation first , then induration ( growths ) and followed by Ulceration or destruction . The severity depends upon the Miasm which is dominant in that particular Patient or Disease . Cancer also first starts with inflammation then induration or growth or Tumours then only the Ulceration or destruction occurs . Every disease follows this pattern only .
