THERES POWER IN SILENCE The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him. (Habakuk 2:20) when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. (Psalm 4:4) -- Worship is huge! Its so much more than singing songs, raising our hands, etc. I love those things but if my heart is not fully, devoted and consecrated to Him, than they just become religious acts. Anything I do can be acts of worship, cleaning my house, working in the yard, doing a project... All of those can be acts of worship as long as my heart is consecrated to Him. One of the greatest acts of worship you can do is to just be silent! Jason Uptons song In the silence says that the song of our heart is the purest of worship, its what He hears. We talk too much! Yes, God wants to hear from us , but, He also has so much to say... In the silence He speaks! He loves to sing and speak to us, look at Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.’ He rejoices over us with singing! Just to hear one word from Him is more powerful than anything I could ever have to say, no matter how meaningful it is. The Word says His voice is powerful and majestic. His voice breaks cedar trees into pieces and strips Oak trees and forests bare. His voice strikes with flashes of lightning. His voice shakes the desert. (Psalm 29) His voice is awesome and brings power!! We absolutely need to praise Him and praise Him in the storms. But, I also think there are times when we just need to listen to the Holy Spirit. It was the voice of Jesus that calmed the wind and waves of the storm (Mark 4:35) I want to consecrate myself to His heart and get into the secret place with Him, allowing Him time to speak to me..
