THIS DAY IN ARKANSAS WEATHER HISTORY... 1820-Heavy rainfall and hail fell at Arkansas Post. 1875-Heavy snow occurred statewide, with 18 inches at Mount Ida, 15 inches at Pine Bluff, 12 inches at Little Rock and Russellville, 10 inches at Dardanelle, and eight inches at Helena. 1930-A small tornado touched down at Gregory in Woodruff County. 1967-Three to ten inches of snow fell in the north with the most at Gilbert. 1992-A supercell thunderstorm moved from near Heber Springs into east central sections with several weak tornadoes. 2008-Heavy snow fell across much of Arkansas for the second time in less than one week. The snow continued into the 7th, with 10.5 inches at Subiaco, 10.0 inches at Evening Shade, and six inches at Pine Bluff and Monticello.
