THIS DAY IN ARKANSAS WEATHER HISTORY... 1926-The remnants of a tropical storm moved through the east, producing some one to two inch rains. 1971-Lows were in the 40s in the north and northwest, with 43 at Huntsville and 44 at Gravette. Much of the remainder of the state saw lows in the 50s. 1986-Record heat occurred across the state, with many highs of 110 or higher. Morrilton reached 115, with Little Rock reaching 112. At Little Rock, this was the hottest temperature on record at the time, and the record stood for 25 years before being broken in 2011.
